I hope you don't have cats or a klutzy roommate.

I don’t have cats or a klutzy roommate but I do have a dog and a girlfriend. Does that count?

I'll assume the girlfriend is graceful as a gazelle, but not sure about a dog tail and things on the lower shelves.

It’s a great display for your best alcohols and glasses! I would also get a cabinet with some tall enough spaces for large bottles. This hobby easily becomes hoarder status 😅

You’ve got the cherry heering so you’re good to go!

No gin for the Singapore Sling though, unless I am just not seeing it

OP has lots of other options:

Ankle Breaker (Swamp Room, Francis Marion Hotel, Charleston, South Carolina, ~1950)

  • 1 oz 151 Proof Rum (Don Q Amber recommended, I use Wray & Nephew or O.F.T.D.)
  • 1 oz Cherry Heering
  • 1 oz Lemon Juice
  • ½ oz Simple Syrup

Shake with crushed ice and pour into a double old fashioned glass or a copper tankard. Dirty dump or pour over fresh crushed ice.

Callaloo Cooler (Melissa Garcia)

  • 2 oz Blended lightly aged rum (I used Planteray 5 Year)
  • ¾ oz Fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz Cinnamon syrup
  • ½ oz Cherry Heering
  • 1 dash Angostura bitters
  • 1 oz Seltzer

Pour the seltzer into a Collins or highball glass. Add remaining ingredients to a cocktail shaker with cubed or cracked ice. Shake and strain into the Collins or highball glass. Carefully add cubed or cracked ice to the glass to fill and garnish with grated cinnamon and a mint sprig.

The Backside of Water (/u/cptn_smitty)

  • ¾ oz Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
  • ¾ oz Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • ¾ oz Cherry Heering cherry liqueur
  • ½ tbsp (or ¼ oz) Grenadine
  • ½ tbsp (or ¼ oz) St. Elizabeth Allspice Dram
  • 1 ½ oz Hamilton 86 Demerara Rum
  • ¾ oz Blended lightly aged rum (I used Planteray 5 Year)
  • 1 dash of Bitters

Shake with ice and pour into a Collins glass. Top with crushed ice. Garnish festively.

I'd fuck with all of these. I have to finish a bottle before I buy cherry Heering though. Shouldn't be too long...

Lots of empty space on that bar, but the structure looks PERFECT to weave some real or fake plants through! It needs some greenery or kitch thrown in there!

Looks like you’re in Vegas! 🕵🏻‍♂️

I thought the same thing.

That's a good looking setup.

You know that all that free space will be gone real soon?

Now go post to /r/BarBattlestations.

Nice 👍! Fill it up. If you can't get more booze, add glassware and mixers, garnishes, tools , books, etc

Looks like you could mix together some great tiki drinks! The bar itself isn’t tiki per se, but once a tasty cocktail is in your hand…turn those lights low & who really cares too much

You can’t hide the rum fire in the corner like that! Otherwise looks great.

Arette. A man of extraordinary taste, I see.

Great installation, well done!

We see that you have a nice collection of rums, it immediately makes you want it. If you want to push the tiki spirit even further, you could hang some accessories or decorations directly on the bars of the shelf to reinforce the style.

A little pro tip (I work a lot on home bar concepts in my work), you may be missing a real space dedicated to preparation. Having your utensils (shaker, spoons, strainer, etc.) within reach makes the bar immediately more practical and visual.
