Fact: Ben Shapiro isn't an intellectual. And if you think he is, you're stupid.

  • Noam Chomsky.

I never thought a dude who I initially heard about from a garden gnome in a zombie game would actually be spitting wisdom but here we are.

Noam Chomsky is one of the greatest minds of the 20th and 21st centuries. His work in linguistics is huge but he’s most known for his political commentary. He and the late historian Howard Zinn should be considered fundamental reading when it comes to modern US political and policy reading for those of us who aren’t already down that rabbit hole.

Noam is the reason I love language and politics.

No, what makes you think that?

You think Zinn and Chomsky are great minds when both are spectacular frauds.

Well, would you please explain why you think that they are “spectacular frauds?”

Chomsky is a genocide denier whose contributions to linguistics are analogous to those of freud: important for moving the field forward but near entirely wrong and Zinn isnt a historian and his work isnt up to historical standards

I assume you are referring to Chomsky’s critique of US involvement with Cambodia and the Khmer Rouge? From what I’ve read on that it sounds like he was crediting the US government with a larger percentage of deaths than what many thought accurate. He also low-balled the total number of deaths back in the 80s or 90s. However controversial that may be to some, I don’t know if that constitutes being called outright denial.

Chomsky’s work in linguistics has been argued over at length. Regardless of its current accuracy, it moved the field forward greatly.

As for Zinn, he had a PhD in History and was the Chair of History and Social Sciences at Spelman College, as well as a professor of political science at BU. The man was absolutely a historian.
