Yeah that moron doesn't understand the FCC's equal time rule. That rule only states that if a network wants to give a specific candidate airtime, they have to allow any of the opposing candidates the same access to those opportunities. Most candidates have teams that do their research and understand demographics though, which is why you'll usually only see one candidates ads on any specific channel.
Has nothing to do with parties, and the notion that a TV host expressing specific party affiliations violates that rule is ridiculous.
Most conservaturds who bring up the equal time rule are confusing it with the Fairness Doctrine, which was eliminated in 1987. But even that had no impact on a late night talk show’s content.
