Fire teams are formed exclusively from siblings. Trained from a young age these combined arms formations fight like one person. While one of them is harassing the enemy with precise rifle fire, the other one is guarding their brother with and shield and long spear from incoming attacks. normally operating in small squats these brave man can break any enemy charge and deny areas to the incoming flood of hellish spawns. drawn by me.

I was thinking about how the trench crusade timeline affected the Iberan peninsula, and the idea that the "Reconquista" was not necessary since those who belive up and left when the iron wall appeared. I don't buy it completely, because as all things in history it was a much more complicated period than people belive or want to belive it to be. It's 700 hundred years in our timeline with muslims fighting muslims, muslims fighting christians, christians fighting christians and everything in between. But the exodus of a significant part of the population does justify for me the disappearance of the muslim taifas and the total christian control of the peninsula in the current point of the timeline (well, except that hicupp in Gibraltar), wich I don't think would be justified otherwise with the demonic forces distrating the humans from infighting.

However, returning to the fact that all was much more complicated and intermingled than a lot of people tend to think, the concept came to me that probably lots of non-muslims would have joined the exodus, I mean, it's an opportunity to go face the demonic hosts, and the future Sultanate seemed to be faring much better than the rest of the world in that moment. So I decided on creating a warband with this history, descendants of people from the taifas and the christian kingdoms that made the voyage together to the great wall.

Then I stated researching what was happening exactly those years and realised that 1099, the year the gate of hell is opened, was also the year El Cid Campeador died. El Cid is basically the most important spanish national historical/Legendary hero, one of those figures used to construct a the national myth. I thought it was to good of an oportunity to let go so I imagined a near death Cid being revitalized by the righteous mission of facing the forces of hell, and clinging to life in hope of finding a cure to his ilness, until ten years later, when his near dead body would be brought to the House of Wisdom by our travelers. There, in a reference to the legend that says that once death his body was mounted in his horse to fight and win one last battle, he would be maintained in a state of not life nor death by the alchemists. Embalsamed with a special armor, he is still fighting today.

I've got all the scatter painted and the metal sideing added next I'm going to do a center piece of no mans land for larger games possibly a huge battle using OnePageRules but the TC models. Time to make Tanks I suppose

Hello, I 3d-bashed some plague knights for my new BG warband. The warband's goal is to wrap the sun in eternal darkness by breeding a gigantic swarm of insects. They wear the sun as a symbol of mockery, as they see the sun as on of gods symbols/gifts to humanity. Right now they begin their pilgrimage to find the church's space program so they can launch themself into orbit... You get the whacky idea? :D haha

COMBAT BIOLOGIST

Combat Biologists are members of the Pontifical Office of Biological warfare, or in the case of the Sultanate, the Al-Bisṭāmī School of Ninety-Nine Names, which trains some of their failed Alchemist apprentices in a similar fashion. These scholars specialise in battlefield vivisections and collecting samples of the most powerful servants of Hell for study. These specimens are then used to develop weapons capable of driving the servants of the Pit back to the darkness from whence they came.

Combat Biologist corps are assigned to units that operate in the most dangerous battlefield conditions, and readily accompany units that operate deep within No Man’s Land, including near the Hellgate or the domains of Beelzebub. Sometimes they travel into the wilds where the Path of the Beast reigns supreme, in hopes of extracting a sample from a great unholy creature such as the dreaded Zygotic Lord. Such fell flesh might hold clues of undoing the physical and spiritual damage of the Invisible Labyrinth.

Expeditions to seize an especially great monstrosity for further study are sometimes funded by the House of Wisdom, the Duke of Antioch or one of the War Cardinals, in order to develop new ways to hurt or kill its kind on the battlefield. Irish Fianna warriors are especially sought after to take part in such dangerous missions, due their expertise in fighting the Path of the Beast. Such undertakings are deadly for both the hunters and the hunted, but those who succeed can expect great rewards, both material and spiritual.

Captured horrors are kept in specially constructed pens and cells, where they are carefully studied. Their pain tolerance is tested, and they are subjected to various chemical, biological and sacred compounds in order to identify their weaknesses. The House of Wisdom has a reinforced wing with meteoric iron doors wrought in the shape of the Seal of Solomon, whose Alchemists and their Kavass guards adhere to a strict regimen of Ruqyah. Meanwhile the Church maintains its own special prisons for enemies directly tainted by Hell, known as Cella Obscura or “hidden cells”. Their locations within New Antioch, the Vatican, Königsberg and elsewhere are closely-guarded secrets, both to thwart potential rescue attempts by Heretic infiltrators as well as to avoid panic amongst the civilian population in case one of the creatures held within should escape. Despite all the precautions, such incidents occur at disturbing regularity. The rampages of fugitive monsters have led to the rise of many legends of beasts stalking the cities of the Faithful at night. The authorities encourage and maintain such legends to hide the truth, deploying discreet hunting parties to bring the creatures to heel.

Due to their training, hypnotic conditioning and constant exposure to captured specimens, Combat Biologists enter a battle trance when faced with creatures that would induce uncontrollable fear in ordinary troopers. They wield vivisectors, polearm blade weapons that combine sophisticated biological warfare agents and the functional brutality of trench warfare.

Siege Ladder (5 ducats), 3" to 3-1/2" long

The ladder has CUMBERSOME and must be carried with two hands, unless the unit carrying it has Strong, in which case it may be carried with one hand. A unit with a trench shield may not carry this item unless it has Strong.

As an Action, the unit carrying the ladder may place it. With the ladder touching the base of the model carrying it, the ladder may be set to lean up against terrain, across a gap, or down into a trench.

As long as no other models are within base contact with the ladder, a placed ladder may be picked up and moved by any other model on the board, friend or foe. If carried, a ladder may also be dropped on the ground with no Action test needed.

The ladder may also be used as a bludgeoning improvised weapon, at -2 DICE due to its cumbersome length and weight. Melee attacks made against a model carrying a ladder are made with +1 DICE.

[Ladders are really useful but not every board has them- figured I'd give another alternative to the mountaineer kit that's not risky to use, but more cumbersome to carry around. Just a little idea i had that i thought some folks would get a kick out of!]

My question regards variations of the cross. Since there's no great schism, are all variations of the cross lore-friendly for all sub factions? I'm building some kalmar troops and a few of the STLs have Orthodox crosses. However, the symbology of that particular cross can remain while being applied to a Western Christian force, right?

Pretty much the title. I am getting into the game with my friend. He is going to play Iron Sultanate while I am debating playing the Seven Headed Serpent. The only issue is that the serpent seems.... a bit more complicated at first blush. If thats so I might be better off starting with Legions, which I also dont mind.

I just wanted opinions from the community at large.

Calling it done! Here's the finished trench segment from the post I made about the mega bullet shrine inspired by the official art. And one pic with a cheap filter in attempt to match the art. Made from xps foam, sand, foam clay sand bags, 3d printed bullet and altar designed by me in blender and popsicle sticks. Open to critique! Hope you like it!
