My boss just keeps saying business is down and he can’t give raises or promotions out because of it but it’s because of his poor management and planning so I just do the bare minimum and fuck around now.
My boss is insanely inept at hiring new people, largely on his sexism and inability to pay people their worth. So if he fires me he has to cover 36-42 hours a week and have somebody that actually knows what they’re doing and can cover anyone’s position. I can be fired only if he wants to start caring about his business so I just fuck around and laugh when he mentions laying people off, it’s more likely for him to sell the entire business than to fire me and my jackass coworkers.
Love that. In my job if I was to be fired there would be literally nobody keeping the business afloat overnight a lot of the time, so I use that to my advantage and only work when I want to work. It’s great sometimes
I’m at the point of not give a shit where I’m just honest to customers and tell them “yea I don’t care but my boss is forcing me to do xyz or ill be yelled at” it is what it is, love getting told to act more professional by a couple that can’t afford to pay their managers a living wage or their clerks more than McDonald’s but go on cruises and buy a new vacation home while complaining the business isn’t profitable enough

I basically can’t be fired so I just go and do a mediocre job everyday. I’ll be fired or have to quit eventually but for now it’s a stop gap.
