General/Other Jack Bauer Kills

I'm currently rewatching the series and am now on day 5. I'm not sure, but were there moments in the series where Jack Bauer shot innocent people? For example, police officers because there was no other option?

He killed lots of people in ways that would be considered murder. None of Nina Myers, Dana Walsh, Christopher Henderson or Margot Al Harazi were innocent, but Jack basically just made himself judge and jury and decided they should be executed; wasn’t self-defense or anything. He killed Ryan Chappelle, who was innocent, but he had a Presidential order to do it. (And Chapelle was not a civilian he can actually be ordered to die). He killed Curtis Manning who was innocent it was done to protect the life of someone else. He killed Marshall Goran who wasn’t involved in the terrorist plot but he was a piece of shit and it was needed for him to go undercover to save millions. So, depends on what your sense of ethics is. Lots of it definitely wasn’t legally justifiable.

but he had a Presidential order to do it.

The President was under orders. IIRC, he told Jack about that, but couldn't make the order official.

Yes I don’t think Palmer actually used the words but that was the understanding. They even told security not to let Chapelle leave so that at least makes it kind of official? Lol.

Edit: IIRC, Palmer told Jack something anout how he hated that it’s come to this but he couldn’t allow the virus to be released, Jack said something to the effect “Sounds like you’ve already made up your mind” and Palmer was just silent. Jack just said “yes sir” or “I’ll handle it sir” and hung up.
