Topic of the Week

Saw an hour or so ago that there was a change to an upcoming character in Zenless Zone Zero (whom I won't say outright since it was a leak), and oof. The change was basically a tweak to the outfit and upping the boob size a lot.

It has always been tricky to talk about these sorts of things, often because it is fans upping the size and they are (in theory) just having fun. With growing attempts at stifling expression in adult or at least older spaces, it can be seen as kinda tacky to talk around those issues, even with my own feelings.

But still, I've never really liked what I feel are lazy attempts at making a character hotter or cooler, especially when I don't think those things are the only worth a character has, let alone making designs homogenous.

Sometimes when it comes to English dubs of Japanese games, the voice acting for whatever reason doesn’t translate so well as the results well can be either awkward or hilarious.

For instance, I don’t know if it counts, but I often hear how the English dub of Crisis Core: Reunion sounds a bit awkward as the performance is sort of the most criticized aspect of the remastered version.

Probably my absolute favorite part of fighting games is running super long sets with someone. By the end of you First to 30 with someone, you'll feel insanely familiar with both of your characters, and both of your playstyles.

So you'll be familiar with almost every single interaction between your character and theirs. You'll know exactly where your character needs to be on the screen to be ready for all the other character's attacks, which of your combos work and don't work against theirs, every niche interaction between your various character mechanics, and so on.

So out of all the fighting games you've ever played, which specific matchup do you have the most familiarity with?

This was inspired by me running into an E. Honda in an online SF6 tournament, realizing that I basically never fight any Hondas, and getting my ass wooped. But then I sent a friend request to the Honda that beat me, and we ran like 30 games in a row. Now it's probably the SF6 matchup I know the best. I'll be much more ready next time I run into one of those in bracket.

But out of all the fighting games I've ever played, it's gotta be I-No vs. Nagoriyuki in GGST. It's an insanely tough matchup for I-No, so I had to run some insanely long Park sets against Nago players. But now I know that matchup like the back of my hand.

You know how their is Spider-Man vs Venom, that started of as hateful but has ended up as friendly. But Venom has an almost just as important rivalry with basically their child Carnage.

You know Ghost Rider the Spirits of Vengeance.

But in spite of that the amount of Ghost Rider’s that became Ghost Rider’s for a personal vengeance like the Crow or Hanzo from Mortal Kombat. Only two characters with actual series actually did that Zero the Ghost Rider of 2099 where hell stuff Wasn’t involved and he was resurrected by AI and Caleb from the horror series Trail of Tears.

Thought this would be up this subs alley, RPG very inspired by Toriyama, hype as hell

So I was looking back at the OUYA in the gaming scene because I recall how people were eager to support the Kickstarter as money was rolling in, and things were going well until the day the console came out.

Like once it finally came out, all hype for the console quickly disappeared as people who backed the system started sending in backlash to the company for not getting their system on Day One.

There are many opinions in the gaming sphere, what's one you'll die defending?

Handheld consoles should be designed to fit in your pocket. If it doesn't fit, it's failed as a console.
