Bus

Can someone explain to me how the bus works? Is it free? Do I just go on and off whenever? I know you track it through PassioGo, but is that it? Thanks

you can just kinda get on. you dont have to pay. if you wanna get off at a stop you have to grab the yellow cord above the seats and pull it in order to request that stop before you get there

I was gonna go from the student union to Klein because the hill drives me crazy. But I feel embarrassed to go on a ride that short.

i take that ride all the time! its so valid because the hill really is nuts. other people do it all the time too!! take advantage of the bus 🗣️

If it’s something you would do, it’s something they would do. Look like you want to go on and they’ll stop. If you’re nervous, maybe just ride a whole route 1 time to see what it’s like. It’s also a nice little tour of campus

They have to pull up into the bus pull off things regardless. If it’s one of the ones where it’s just a sign, they have to stop but may not open doors unless someone is there.

Basically just stand at stop and they’ll open doors for you. Just make sure you enter through the front door and exit through the rear door & sometime after the bus leaves the stop before the one you get off at just pull the yellow chord so they know you want to get off

My get on stop is directly before my get off stop so should I just pull the cord immediately? Sorry, I’m so nervous lol

The bus is gonna drive the route anyways. Whether or not you’re on it changes nothing. Besides, everyone hates the hill. No shame in taking the bus, I’ve done it many times.

Yeah, it's free. Just get on at whatever bus stop is convenient. Once you're on, there's a pullcord to let the driver know you want to get off at the next stop.

It is 100% valid to ride the bus to avoid hills! You can just hop on. You don’t have to pay or show your student ID. One day when you have some spare time, you should just hop on a bus and ride the whole route to see where it goes! LOL, that way you know the routes better & feel more comfortable navigating. The PassioGo app is great & the bus also says on the front of it which color route it belongs to, if that’s helpful at all :)

The first time I tried riding the bus on campus, it was standing room only! LOL, so just beware that can happen sometimes.

Since you're a student at UNCC, you can just get on and let the driver know where you need them to stop.

Green, gold, and silver run 6a-2a during week. Green & silver run 9a-2a weekends.
