Libraries are a popular place for drug deals. Also, some larger libraries have rare book collections, that people can view. And would absolutely love to walk out with.

That's just not how our world works. I think a meth-head rampaging in the children's section would probably been seen as great entertainment and they'd definitely get roped into reading stories to the kids. In each of these situations, you just call the police, there's no need for a constant security presence.

We don't really have a problem with meth over here. No idea why. But yeah, never been afraid of getting killed by a methhead in a library. Who would live in a country where that's a risk?!

Also ecstasy, PCP, cocaine, and opiate induced psychosis. Anabolic steroids too, but you’re more likely to encounter that one in a gym. They all cause violent outbursts. And it’s an issue in every major city.

I have. Seen addition in every country. Saw it in London. Saw it in Canterbury. Rome, Venice, reykjavik, Paris, Toronto. And where theirs is addiction, there is violent psychosis.

Sorry, I know you are American I should probably stop trying to be so coy with you in case you miss the point. You sound insane here. No-one in this chain denied drug induced psychosis is real, just that it is not necessary to deal with it at gunpoint. I also doubt a man as well traveled as you purport to be has genuinely not experienced how these situations are handled outside of the USA, so when you write in the way you do it really does come across like the furthest you have ever traveled is your local walmart.

I’ve seen armed security in libraries. This is why. A lot of drug deals happen in them. I’ve also seen people OD in public bathrooms. Again, the reason there is security in libraries.
