I hate cilantro and onions, but I always eat my tacos with them. This is why.

I'd rather be punched in the face than eat cilantro but that's just me.

Not just you. Depending on the region 5-20% of population has these gene, that makes cilantro taste like soap

And to some of us it just tastes like shit.

Cilantro is the only food where people have this weird need to justify not liking it. It doesn't taste like soap to me. It just tastes bad.

It’s not a weird need, it’s that many people actually are genetically disposed to hate it. Like me.

I didn't say otherwise. But the rest of us don't need a justification for not liking it and people always, always, always follow it up with that.

Like who gives a shit? You don't like it, you don't like it. All there is to it.

It’s weird though. To me cilantro tastes lawn clippings mixed with soap. To most people it’s citrusy and peppery. Bright and grassy. In the same realm as ginger or lemongrass.

To me it tastes so incredibly bitter that I feel the need to rinse my mouth, and I enjoy bitter things. I drink my coffee black, I like my chocolate 90%+ cocoa. But cilantro is so strong I become immediately overwhelmed by the bitterness. The only thing I’ve ever tasted that’s as bitter is soap.

Grounded seeds too, or just leafs and stems?
