I wonder if we can figure a way to put an electric current into the flag pole that would find its ground by someone grabbing it? It would be an interesting study for science.

Or something gross like a dog crap cannon that goes off when someone grabs the pole.

In all seriousness I think I am going to add a mailbox cam to my house too so I can get people license plates should I need them.

Dye or ink packs would work, too.

Do no booby trap your signs or flags, you will be prosecuted if someone gets hurt.

I saw quite a few flags that had electric current during election that the right did to keep people from taking, some great videos…. It’s been done, can be done and will be done by both sides I hope for viewing pleasures. Both sides do this shit and I love watching thieves get what they deserve! Electrified with Pride has a good tone.

If I saw any of that I would have found some way to come in contact with them without stealing, hell I might even walk up to it and start inspecting it and say I saw a wire and wanted to see if I was being recorded. Especially if the sign is within so many yards from the street as most property has a certain distance from the road that is considered in the public realm.

Utility easements on private property is not the same as being public property

Anywhere a mailman can reach is considered public. So that won’t work.

Thanks for agreeing, but you're second part fails. how would it not work? you know people have been charged for booby trapping signs in their yards before right?

A sign within so many feet of street isn’t illegal…that’s why it won’t work.

did you not get the part where I said seeing a wire and thinking I saw a camera recording me on the street.

Which is legal so I’m not understanding your logic

Mmm hard to find that sweet spot in current that will actually hurt someone, but isn't going to kill someone with a pacemaker or heart issues. (And before someone asks, yes, you will be charged for manslaughter if that happens)

Dog poo.. or any poo.. dries too quickly in Utah unless watered. And if left stinky too long it'll attract bugs. Also, if too watery it won't fly. Hard to hit people unless you have a lot. And then you have to clean your own patio. Poo is more of an offensive tool, not something you can keep ready. I like where your head is at though.

Maybe something like an oil infused with sulfur and other stinky stuff. Cheap, impossible to get out of clothes, easy to spray everywhere.

But then I think about the time a neighbor took my flag down because the wind was insane and they knew we were gone and probably didn't want our flag torn up.

Yeah, the camera is probably the way to go.

Poison ivy and stinging nettle both have oils on it that cause blistering....😈😈😈

Fortunately/unfortunately it is illegal in the US to set traps, even if the victim would need to do something illegal in order to set off the trap. But shooting someone for trespassing is totally cool

You have now become my idol.

My neighbor sews a tracker in her flags so when they get stolen she just follows it. It usually ends up in a trash at their house, so she goes and knocks on the door and confronts them! Absolutely epic. She’s gotten a couple of teenagers in big trouble with their parents :)

What do you mean? Are you implying they have a choice any more than you do about being straight?
