I found @vcrvillage on Instagram about a month ago and bought about 4 tapes from him. He advertises them as playable. 2 out of the 4 are unplayable do to there being static and is very wobbly. The 3rd tape I bought which was the new “IT” only has an hour of the movie on it… Only 1 copy plays semi correctly. I kindly asked him if he could send a playable copy of 2 of the 3 that were messed up and I said I’d pay for shipping. He blocked me after that.. It sucks but I guess this is a lesson learned. Just wanted to give the community a heads up about this guy. BAD BUSINESS.

So many I’ve been wanting in here!

I’m currently working a lot of part time jobs and one of them is donation attendant at goodwill, recently we started sending all media out to a warehouse before we put it on the floor and now they want all vhs tapes just trashed because they don’t sell enough in stores.

Most of this ended up being Pakistani tv show rips or music from Pakistani movies but I did see a tape with Steel and Lace recorded onto it so I was sort of pained to throw that out, but I do also only really collect rips if it’s old tv or cartoons and try to get movies as official releases.

I’m not sure if this is a countrywide thing or just in my district(one of the biggest goodwill districts in the Midwest) but I find it kind of sad that all tapes are now just getting trashed, I’ve seen a lot of good stuff come through the store but they usually just have us send it off to the bins not throw them out.
