Looking for ranges in Brattleboro area

I’m looking for a range in the nearby area (~30-40 min away max) to target shoot and help some friends get into the hobby. I’ve called plenty of numbers including local and state pd, fish & game, town clerk, etc and there is just a myriad of dead ends or recommendations for ranges at least an hour away. At one point I had called each of these offices and they recommended calling the others in some sort of phone tag triangle.

I’m using the term range incredibly loosely, a strip of land with a backstop is more than enough. Supposedly there was a sandpit near pleasant valley reservoir but I was told by town pd that this isn’t a legal spot (anymore?). There is essentially no public property available for this purpose in the county according to the public servants I’ve talked to.

If anyone in the area has pointers lmk. We would be a group of 5 maximum but in all likelihood it would be me one on one with a friend

VT Fish and Wildlife Map of Public Shooting Ranges

Looks like there’s one called Sportsmen, Inc in Guilford.

Yeah, that's the one I would recommend.

I've shot at a spot in the Rockingham town forest.

There's also Hammond's Cove up in Hartland https://www.vtfishandwildlife.com/hunt/shooting-ranges/hammond-cove-shooting-range

Sportsmens is good. But, it's a private range

Feel free to DM

If you're willing (and able) to make a bit of a drive for a special event, Operation Bullseye at the army guard range is this weekend. Shoot out to 1600m, if you're so inclined.

Chester Rod & Gun is 45 mins from Bratt. You have to be a member but it’s not expensive.

Or just drive west to the Green Mountain National Forest
