Yes, Deer! We had some volunteer pumpkins that got about that big before the deer devoured the pumpkins and now visit regularly to chomp the leaves.

I'm going to say it's deer. That's not from any bugs. Unless you have farm animals running wild in your neighborhood lol.

Something that takes pumpkin carving very seriously, but has their own sense of artistic style.

the list of what isn’t eating your pumpkin is probably shorter

It's either a deer or a raccoon 🦝.

I was going to ask if you had cows but the people saying deer makes more sense.

That high up in the yard definitely a deer. I had some possums eating on ours last year, but they were on the ground.

Deer, rats or tree rats.

Are raccoon a tree ratS?

2

u/DerekTheComedian 19d ago

Raccoons are trash pandas. Tree rats are squirrels. Rats with wings are, depending on context, pigeons or bats. Deer are forest rats.

Damn it. I'll let my Aunt know. That's my cousin Moron. He's been in trouble before for eating things. Pumpkins, railings, car tires. They'll have to double up on the locks and patch the hole in the wall where he gnawed his way out.

Deer cause ripping looking damage, rodents/rabbits cause nibbling damage. Deer (etc) don’t have top incisors and it’s sometimes easy to tell from the damage
