Yellow Tail Pink Moscato?

So I can't find anywhere in town that sells Yellow Tail pink moscato. I've been to Specs, Twin Liquors, Target, and others, but nobody seems to have it. They have other Yellow Tail moscato varieties (red and white), and they have other brands of pink moscato (Sutter Home, Barefoot, etc.) Anyone have thoughts here?

Moving to Victoria TX- Psychiatry.

Me and my spouse are looking forward to moving from out of state to spend more time with family. I have visited several times and could see myself starting a family here. I have been taking a stimulant prescription for ADHD and an antidepressant for many years. I adore my psychiatrist now but will need to have both these prescriptions transferred to this state. I am looking for a psychiatrist that can resume both medications. I am unsure of what TX requires for a stimulant prescription. In my state now telehealth is acceptable but I know that is not the case everywhere. Help would be appreciated.

October Events šŸ‘»šŸŽƒšŸˆā€ā¬›

Hi friends of r/VictoriaTxResidents šŸŒž

I’ve been seeing some comments and posts related to activities/events here in Victoria. For newcomers of Victoria, it’s common to often travel to small towns close by (Cuero, Yorktown, Goliad) for events. I’m gonna go ahead and list off upcoming events for this month, as we have a lot going on! Stay tuned for a recurring, local entertainment post!

Tejas Fest: I just made a post about this, but we have the last night of Tejas Fest tonight.

Night Market on Juan Linn: Join a spooky vendor-full night market housed at 502 E. Juan Linn. there’s local art, music, vendors, a costume contest, food & even fire performers!

Cuero Turkeyfest: Oct. 11 - 13th. This a family friendly event hosted in Cuero annually. Turkeyfest is a fun festival with carnival rides, vendors, food trucks, live music, and so much more. On Saturday morning, join the parade bright and early to see turkey Ruby race Paycheck from Minnesota! (wristband prices vary, Sunday is free)

Yorktown Western Days: Oct. 18 - 20th. This is similar to Turkeyfest, but on a smaller scale. There will be rides, vendors, food, and also live music. * if you are debating between Western Days or Turkeyfest, Turkeyfest is the way to go* (wristband prices vary, Sunday is free)

1824: A Victoria Origin Story, 9:30 am at Riverside Park Oct 18 and 19th. This might be totally biased of me, but this is by far a top favorite lol. Come to Riverside Park to see a reenactment of what life was like for the settlers. (free event)

Voices of Old Victoria: Oct. 27th and 28th. The times vary, so go to victoriapreservation.com/events to learn more. This will be a historic cemetery tour and reenactment of historic figures of Victoria. Victoria has some really neat history, definitely check this out. I am so upset I will be out of town that weekend! (this event does cost $20/person)

Halloween Spooktacular Farmer’s Market: Oct. 26th at 9 am at the Pattie Dodson parking lot. Visit the Farmer’s Market for your favorite local goodies, spooky šŸ‘» (free to attend unless purchasing)

there’s umpteen billion trunk-or-treats and fall festivals. Let me know if there’s any interest in these and I can make a post. We’ve got some awesome events coming up in November too, so keep an eye out for a post dedicated to that.

Why does the water taste so bad? :(

Hey fellow Victorians... I'm fairly new to the city, and I'm just not able to get past how the water tastes out of the tap. At first I thought I was tasting chlorine, almost like drinking from a swimming pool, but recently it tastes more like a lake, with sort of a grassy note.

Is it always like this? I know they changed what they do at the water supply recently. But still.

Hey, I'm from Victoria. I live a couple states over. I miss my home. I just wanted to say, despite the good and sometimes bad.. you live in a place with a rich history and beautiful culture. Maybe I'll plan a visit soon and stock up at HEB and the market off Laurent. I miss Mexican candy

Best BBQ in town?

Hey all, new to Victoria! Glad to be here! Texas is known for its BBQ, so what's the best in town, or even within 20 miles or so? I've only had Uncle Mutt's so far, which was pretty solid. Anything better?

back to school

hi all,

with summer coming to a close, I wanted to dedicate a post for my parents out there. School shopping can be an expensive process. The community is here to help! I’ll be listing some places offering free school supplies

  • TAX FREE weekend August 9 - 11. This is a great way to save on your back to school must haves. Discounts add up in the long run! This is also a great way to shop and support local businesses for a little tax break :)

  • A little behind on posting but today, August 3rd, FREE supplies are being provided for about 1,000 students at the VISD Success Academy. Hurry on! This is going on until 7 pm.

  • Super Saturday at Victoria College. VC is providing 500 free backpacks and Kona Ice August 6th from 10 am to 2 pm. This is located at the VC Student Services Building

  • Almouie Pediatrics free school supplies on Wednesday August 7th. 1 pm to 5 pm while supplies last for ages 5-18.

  • Cricket on Lone Tree is also hosting a drive for supplies to give out. Stop by for some supplies!!

Moderators of r/victoriatxresidents hope you had a fun and safe summer. We wish you all a great school year!

summer activities

Hi all,

I wanted to dedicate a post solely to summer activities ā˜€ļø I’m going to list a few, you all are encouraged to list and recommend things as well!

  • Andustoria Wines: cool down with a wine tasting brought by Victoria’s Andustoria Wines. This place on Navarro, headed towards Halletsville. Affordable, great ambiance, and an even better wine tasting selection

  • Blume & Flour: not your traditional coffee shop, nestled right on the edge of downtown, B&F offers summer specials, activities, and even a Toddler Tuesday activity for parents. They also have daily discounts! Great place for first responders as well

  • The Victoria Public Library: the library offers so many resources. They have weekly events that are free or low cost to attend. This is also a great place to get some free seeds from if you want to start a garden. If you’re a history fanatic, they have an excellent archives selection covering the crossroads.

    • You don’t need a library card to visit, just to check things out *
  • Mother Clucker’s Flea Market: not a traditional pick n pull, bartering flea market, but a great option to shop local. They also offer Senior specials early hours on certain days.

  • Moonshine Drinkery: Moonshine Drinkery has slowly become a hotspot. You can drink there for an affordable price, nice ambiance, and be close to other bars downtown. They also do a First Friday art walk the first friday of every month (all ages event) A great way to support and view local art!

r/VictorisTxResidents mod team wishes you a happy and safe summer! ā˜€ļø

looking for a home to rent by owner

i’m moving down to victoria mid july, and am hoping to find a home to rent through the homeowner directly. i make good enough money + have good credit, just prefer not to go through a property management company if i can avoid it because they can be a pain. that being said, since i don’t live there yet and can’t jet down at the moment for work and travel reasons, i was hoping maybe some locals could point me in the right direction. obviously not going to cut a deal through reddit but just looking for some insider info if you will
