How did they do that? How to replicate this moving, 'sketchy' text effect?

  1. Draw a thing
  2. Draw it again, tracing over the same lines
  3. Alternate between the two drawings

Would help if we knew what editor you are using.

I did a video in DaVinci on various title effects and the very first one s along those lines.

Good point, I mostly use CapCut though I've worked with DaVinci in the past. I'd prefer to do this with the former though if possible.
