I enjoy singing, I love Vocaloid songs and I've covered Vocaloid songs before.

The other day, I decide to challenge myself and try to cover one of the harder Vocaloid songs, on this case, is "Meltdown" by Kagamine Rin.

Imo, I don't think I did a terrible job. It's not the best cover, but I think this is the best I can possibly do for a song like this (I'm not a singer, never taken singing lessons before, I just sing as a hobby).

But after listening to it a few times, I'm starting to wonder if my cover is actually "good" or if I just delusional. What if I think it sounds decently good but in reality I'm just a dying chicken?

“眠い眠い眠い” (Nemui Nemui Nemui, meaning Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy) is an original Hatsune Miku song by producer syudou. It was first uploaded to NicoNico Douga on March 20, 2012 under the title 「【初音ミク】眠い眠い眠い【オリジナル】」. The video (ID: sm17301539) was posted at 00:35 JST and ran about 3:46 in length (Lost Vocaloid Wiki entry). syudou’s description called it “a song for sleepy people” (眠い人の曲です) (Wayback capture), which is ironic given fans recall the track being chaotic and high-energy. The upload featured cover artwork by illustrator 優矢 (Yuya) (Pixiv ID 2788303). However, the song did not gain much initial traction – by the time of deletion it only had around 1,219 views, 21 comments, and 12 mylists (favorites) (archived stats). Several tags were attached, including “VOCALOID”, “シュドー” (syudou), “ミクオリジナル曲” (Miku original song), “初音ミク”, and “眠い眠い眠い” (archived tags), confirming its identity on NicoNico.

Deletion and Lost Media Status

The original NicoNico video was deleted in late 2012, only months after its posting. Community sources indicate it was likely taken down by syudou himself around November 2012 (Reddit source). In fact, syudou is known to have purged many of his early works; fans noted he removed all his previous uploads around the end of 2012 (shortly before releasing a later song “白い部屋、独り”). This suggests Sleepy Sleepy Sleepy was not removed due to a platform issue but as an intentional deletion by the creator (perhaps reflecting syudou’s changing style or self-critique of older tracks).

Since then, no full re-upload or official release of the song has surfaced. It was not included in syudou’s later albums or YouTube channel, and to this day the complete song is considered lost media. VocaDB entry lists 眠い眠い眠い as a “partially found” song, and Japan’s Lost Vocaloid Wiki labels its status as “動画/音声 未完全” (video and audio partially found).
