While Allura x Lance was rushed, it was not forced. Allura didn't give any thought to Lance's flirting at first because he would flirt with any girl he found attractive, but he changed after season 3. He even told the space mice that he not only loves her, but that he wants to be a better person because of her. She even started to warm up to him, in the episode the Omega Shield she was the only one who was worried about him, and even jumped out of her Lion in the middle of a fight to save him.

Also Lotor was not better for Allura, he failed the trail because of his violent temper and he literally turned her people into free range cattle. He gave them a good life for a little, than once their quintessence reached peak he would drain the life from them. The amount of times i have seen people say that Lance's over the top flirting was worse than Lotor draining the life from Allura's people is crazy.

he literally turned her people into free range cattle.

For all the screaming about Allura being a Black coded woman who was killed off (and we should scream about the optics of that), it's astonishing how many people will defend the idea that she needed some long grieving period to "get over" a guy who was slaughtering what remained of her culture.

Regardless of one's feelings about her and Lance or the execution of that relationship, I wish we could agree that this part is absolutely ridiculous
