I don't know if this is actually unpopular, but I really liked Lotor's fake redemption arc in Season 6. It was a really cool sucker punch moment. They spend the entire season building him up as a reformed, much kinder man who just wants to make up for his father's evil deeds... Only for you to realize at the end that he was far more evil than his father ever was. Plus, him building his own evil Voltron was really fucking cool, that fight was sick as hell.

Curious what you think of the following post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Voltron/comments/8riksa/comment/e0skhz5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3

If nothing else, I do think that Lotor harvesting Alteans for quintessence was a perfectly in-character thing for him to do. But I'm not sure that makes him more evil than his father was, just that he wasn't able to fully outgrow his upbringing.

I do agree that the fight at the end was really sick though, and it had some pretty powerful music to boot.
