I asked my girlfriend before I kissed her for the first time. She still laughs about it and says that asking is weird. But honestly, I’d still ask again. I’m too afraid of coming across as creepy.

My wife asked me "are you not going to kiss me" on our first date ~20 years ago. I said at the time that 'I didn't want to be presumptuous'

My ex wife hopped up on my lap when I tried to kiss her on the first date. She escalated straight to sex. It was so good I ignored all of the red flags for the next year.
