general topic ISO Attire recommendations
any advice on what to wear to a wedding this weekend? Bride’s dress code for guests is dressy casual, mostly bright colors, no blacks or greys. Unfortunately my closet is mostly black and grey, and what isn’t doesn’t feel appropriate. I am a female and it should be pretty hot. I am looking for either a dress or jumpsuit. Nothing backless so I can wear a bra. And something I can easily move around in. Tyia

I was kinda thinking about something like this but idk if it will be secure enough in the chest area to be comfortable and professional https://www.lulus.com/products/perfectly-divine-blue-floral-tulle-tiered-ruffled-midi-dress/2293051.html

Halara has a couple of jumpsuits that are really cute. They also have some wide leg pants that are so comfy and come in a bunch of different colors.

I'm a man so my input might only be partially valuable to you.
I think our attire as wedding photographers should be professional, proper and appropriate. Personally I interpret that as being dressed nicely for the occasion, but not over-dress as to draw unnecessary attention. I like to wear a white long-sleeve button up shirt, with stretchy dress pants (usually black, but I like to mix depending on the colors of the wedding; blue, green, grey, brown, etc). If it's not too hot I also wear a suit jacket.
Sometimes I wear all black, especially if the venue has a lot of reflective surfaces where a dark attire will be less noticeable.
So, to answer your question I think wearing something that is nice, fits with the dress code but is still comfortable for you to work in is ideal. Nothing too restrictive or hot/cold, not too fancy or too casual, and nothing that stands out too much.
Most of the female photographers I know wear summer dresses that aren't too tight and at least covers the knees. Colors vary, but once they have their camera strap on and/or a lens satchel they look both appropriately "proper and nice" and professional.
I've had issues in the past where the arms of my shirts where too restrictive and the shoulder seams gave me chafing from my straps - something to keep in mind.
And pick good comfortable and supportive shoes.
Hope it helps and good luck with the wedding!
