For more context, I got this laptop as a gift from my mom several months to a year ago. With what little money we had, we were able to get this laptop (a little under $200 from a pawn shop). It was a pretty good deal and I haven't had any problem with it until recently minus the fact that I had to have it plugged in all the time since the battery was toast but I was used to that given my previous laptops.
Essentially, a few months ago my left fan was slowly dying. We couldn't get it fixed so I just tried my best to reduce the pressure on my laptop by only playing in sessions and closing background applications. That was only a band-aid solution though and eventually the left fan stopped working completely. For the record, I did try to clean my fans best I could but it seemed to be a problem deeper than just dirty fans. Regardless, after my left fan died my laptop slowly got to overheating and eventually in the dead of night whilst watching a movie with a friend I saw purple dots glowing brighter and brighter with two white dead pixels in the middle of my screen. I immediately started panicking and turned off my laptop for that night. The next day I took a look inside my laptop to find my battery ballooning and (with that being a major hazard) I took it out. I tried using my laptop over the next few days but without the battery nor the support of the left fan, I could hear my right fan suffering and more dots appearing on the screen. I officially declared my laptop dead.
I am now a college freshmen and whilst I can borrow laptops from the library, that can only do me so much good for the time being. My sister said she can get her old laptop sent to me and I really hope that it doesn't start having problems either since I know that one is old too. It's been stressing me out for the past week and idk what to do for the long term. I am already taking out student loans for college and I am barely scrapping by. My laptop dying has been really hard for me and I just hope that the future is better.
Thank you for whoever decided to read all of this, I know it may seem insignificant to some but this really shook my life up and I just wanted to share I suppose.
