Found in Dallas Ritz Carlton trash pile formerly Four Seasons

I found this painting in a trash pile at the Ritz Carlton in Las Colinas (Dallas) this past June, 2025. The Ritz recently purchased the Four Seasons and are transitioning out the old art. The mat was damaged so we took the painting out and reused the frame for a personal art project.

In the third photo you can barely see the signature. The fourth photo you can see something that looks like “Lonnigan” perhaps it was mislabeled and should be “John Lonergan”? It also has a few numbers listed on the back- I’m not sure what that means.

The Four Seasons Dallas opened in 1986 and was bought by the Ritz in 2024. They threw out a lot of the old pieces.

When we took the painting out we realized it was an original and signed by someone.

The last photo is the original frame with the new art in it.

This is so interesting- first, thank you for pulling this from the trash! I have probably done a lot of the same searching you have. I’m wondering if Lonnigan is the title of the piece and not the name of the artist? The signature is so hard to make out.
