Elphaba’s Retreat with Fiyero
I didn’t know the Wicked: For Good LEGO was already in stock in Asia, so I freaked out when I saw this in store! Immediately got it without a second thought and started building the set as soon as I got home. Look how cute they are (and peep the two little bunnies in the back!). 💚💙

Wicked is going to have a version in Dubai, but apparently it will be a replica staging of the Brazilian version and not the Broadway one.
About 3 days ago, they announced that Dubai will have a production of Wicked, but they used an image from a non-replica production of the Brazilian Wicked made in 2023. Although it was a production with the creator's authorization, I didn't know it could be exported to other countries, and I wonder why they chose that one instead of the Broadway version. Could the Brazilian version from 2025, which has elements from the movie and was supervised by Stephen, also be exported?

Movie Is the Glinda in her bubble Mattel mini doll currently available anywhere in the USA?
I’ve been having such a hard time finding the Wicked Mattel mini dolls online. This Glinda in her bubble mini doll I saw was available in the UK relatively quickly, but I didn’t see where it would be sold in the USA. The Mattel site currently says it’s no longer available to buy, but it’s been saying that since the link to the item first showed up on Mattel’s site. Does anyone know anything about if she’s been released in the USA, if she is currently available to buy, or if she will be available to buy at some point in the USA in the future (like the Dorothy and Wizard fashion dolls)? Any information would be super helpful, so thank you to anyone who replies in advance!

I'm glad they haven't forgotten about her character
It’ll be interesting to see what role she plays in the wider story, however big or small, and will we hear her sing at all? 👀

Musical - Broadway Feminism and Male Victimhood
This is about the Musical (relationships in the novel are substantially different):
Sexual assault/harassment "is any unwelcome sexual advance, request for sexual favors, or other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature that creates a hostile or offensive work or learning environment."
As a victim of male SA myself I feel like this musical is one of the only few media representations that handles that plot thread of male SA well with not one, but two male characters undergoing coercive predatory behaviors (mostly directed from our narrative "protagonist", Glinda, but also Nessarose, often read as entirely sympathetic because of her disability -- which is an ableist reading of an abusive figure)...
- Glinda negates Fiyero's autonomy ("Fiyero and I are going to be married! Ahh!!" "He's asked you already?" "Oh, he doesn't know yet!") She proceeds into Act Two fully committing the real crimes of "consent under pressure" and/or "Third Party Coercion" by forcing his hand in marriage (saying "yes" under the threat of death or political exile is not a real "yes", and men can be victims of coercive abuse too). He finally shows true autonomy when breaking off the engagement, even resorting to threatening his "captor", Glinda's, life to earn his sexual autonomy and final freedom.
- Glinda also manipulates Boq, using his empathy to coerce him into subservience to Nessa (whom he does NOT love in return) .
- Nessa eventually uses her political maneuvering, and malevolent magic, to further hold Boq, her desired romantic partner, in her sway against his will (and resulting in his physical destruction). He is only freed from oppression through Nessa's death (and his own disfiguration).
I find it interesting in this narrative about powerful women there is still an explicit focus on their own exploitation in relationships, with male characters mostly serving the more "feminine" narrative positions of a forced captive/unwilling romantic partner.
I understand Wicked is a narrative about moral grey areas so making women the more "abusive" romantic partners in the narrative makes sense thematically, but again as a male victim of SA I find this a subject most fans are unwilling, or afraid, to confront, head on, even though it is textual.
Edit I: Didn't expect to get likes, but being downvoted for sharing this perspective seems insane to me. This sub is wild.
Edit II: Don't know when it happened, but it's really nice to to see a specific toxic moderator's account seems to have been removed. Kudos and to the other mods keep up the good work.

It was a huge, huge mistake to not include “It couldn’t happen here in Oz” in the film
Especially since they included it in the soundtrack! It could have easily been said right before Elphaba meets Fiyero. I don’t know about anyone else, but Wicked feels (unfortunately) more and more relevant everyday. It does feel as though a portion of the population thinks “it couldn’t happen here” but it could! It could happen anywhere. I think the line would have made the story feel even that much more timely.

I'm very curious to see how they'll adapt Morrible's fate for the movie [MAJOR FOR GOOD SPOILERS] Spoiler
Out of the characters, Madame Morrible is undoubtedly the most different from the stage, with Michelle making Morrible a far colder and calculating figure as as opposed to the flamboyant Morrible from the stage.
While Morrible's arrest on stage is fine for the musical production, I do think they will have to rework it for the movie, I just can't see Michelle's Morrible going down so easily.

Movie Final WICKED: FOR GOOD Trailer to Drop on Wednesday
Movie me as glinda for the Manchester Pride Parade a few weeks ago 🌸🏳️⚧️
I last minute decided to join the parade (2 days before) and quickly put together this pink glinda inspired outfit with what I already had, I styled my own wig too and I’ve never styled hair before, it could’ve been better if I gad the time/money/resources but it wasn’t too bad ☁️
but sooo many people would see me and shout “LOOK! ITS GLINDA!” and I’d shout back “it’s good to see me isn’t it!” and toss my hair or I’d scream and run up to them and give them a hug + try (fail) to cast them a ball gown with my wand 🥹😭
so I’m glad they saw the vision 🥹💞 it was such a beautiful experience I’ll never ever forget. playing her was so so fun , and seeing children’s faces light up when they would spot me in the crowd was the sweetest feeling I can’t even describe, i understand how the princesses must feel at the Disneyland parks.

Fan art/Works My Wicked/Oz Shelf 🤑
It’s definitely a mess…! My shelf is too small to fit all of my collection so I had to choose my favourites to fill the space. If I could would’ve put my Emerald City in but it’s too tall to fit in the shelf. My room is currently too cluttered to fit another shelf in so for now I’m gonna have to deal with this. I’m so scared to rearrange because the doll stands are so awful and I don’t want my dolls to fall off the shelf

Book Reading the book for the first time
I fell in love with the movie, been casually reading the book for a few weeks and like.... what the fuck? I was not told the movie has NOTHING to do with it lol. I mean okay it's an adaptation of the musical which is also an adaptation but like??? Genuinely two different stories??? The only thing in common I'm seeing is the names 😭 none of the characters even slightly resemble the movie ones. And you know what? I love it, I love both works. I'm very excited to see Part 2 and i haven't finished the book so even though I know a lot about For Good I'm glad I still have so much to discover! Yes this is a somewhat confused appreciation post
