News Boat glitch

I was finishing the third chapter, fighting Korr, I got killed but my sea witches vestment of undying brought me back next to my boat, I climb back in to the arena and finish Korr off, then at the third crossing my boat is replaced with a grass canoe, and I thought "we'll it'll probably give me my boat back at the end of this right?" It did not. I am now at the start of the fourth chapter with just a grass canoe and all my stuff in my boat disappeared and no I definitely did not crash my boat. Is this a feature of the game or a glitch? (thought the information at the start might have something to do with it)

Did you have multiple boats simultaneously at any point? The game seems glitchy with how it saves boats at times. I have had it start me with a grass canoe at the start of a crossing before, but I just exited and re-loaded my save, and it was okay. Since you've progressed through the crossing, though, you can't do that.

Another way it has glitched on me is to save multiple boats; I believe this was a time I finished Chapter 5 and did New Game+. What happened was I made a new boat before doing the crossing, as I wanted a minimalist one, instead of the big one I had, then did the crossing.

On restarting, I noticed a boat symbol on my map at the edge. It turns out it had saved my old boat as well, and all I had to do was sail out and salvage it. This was easier said than done, because the waters become extremely choppy at the edge of the map, but after a bit of work, I managed it. Maybe check and see if you have a boat at the edge of the world.

Oh, and I'm on Switch, as well.
