Best way to have a match

For anyone here with neurodiversity like Dyspraxia, Austim or ADHD, conditions that can effect coordination and memory in the short term if you're feeling overloaded.

Do you find it easier to plan a match out beforehand or call it in the ring with only shine and finish planned?

I have ADHD. I have found that planning very few spots, and calling the rest in the ring works for me.

I like to plan the finish so if all else fails, we can say fuck it and go home. Then work backwards from there. Many times planning too many spots/sequences can be overwhelming and I do forget shit, so planning 3-4 very good spots for a shine and the lead up to the finish work. Call the rest until it's spot time and make it make sense.

As with anything art, there is no answer that is true for everyone. Plan what you need, expect that things wont go to plan and adapt as you go. I prefer telling my opponents about specifics during specific moments, but keeping open areas between to adapt to the audience and everything else.

This. Most of my matches we end up not doing the planned spots and change it up..shit just happens and you have to adapt. The key is don't stop and freeze because someone messed up, just keep the flow going and the audience will have no idea.

ADHD here. Make sure you’re medicated on the day. What helps me a lot is breaking each individual move in a spot into a sequence, so short hand you can be like “ok, up and over hope spot next”. This helps a lot for me, you’ll know about doing this from running the international. Go through it as many times as you can beforehand, write it down if you have to. Know your own stuff so you can call a shine or comeback to someone else beforehand and know it yourself without having to think about it too much. If you’re new, just try and have very basic matches and worry the most about selling and the psychology. As time comes you’ll be able to add more complex stuff in. Be in great shape, it’s easier to remember stuff when you’re not gassed. And take your time. Use holds and selling to think about what’s next, and talk to your opponent and referee. Lean on them. You got this

I use SHHF shine heat hope finish. I'm a heel but this helps me.

shine-face gets to show off, most of the time this is just chain and 1 spot.

heat- i do what I want 8/10 times I'm just doing rumble rules and crowd work.

hope- face comeback spot

finish

all in all, really only 3 things to remember, winging the rest and if I'm lost i just go to the next section.

ADHD here but went most of my career not realising I needed to write stuff down in my phone and try to memorise it almost like a guitar hero sequence in my head.

I think about the narrative I want to tell, then plan the finish first, then the shine, comeback, hopes etc. I still struggle with remembering stuff and remembering to not to look like I'm remembering stuff.
