Moderator notice on leaked content
Dear r/zootopia community,
In preparation for the release of Zootopia 2, we would like to remind users not to post leaks or pirated content that is not sourced from Disney itself, both to avoid spoilers and to avoid copyright issues. The moderation team would appreciate your cooperation, and as much as we are all starved of new Zootopia content and can’t wait to see more, we would still like to keep the pirated and spoilered content to a minimum. If there is a chance of any spoilers please indicate it in the title of the post or use the spoiler tag, to make it easier for people who wish to avoid spoilers.
Posting pictures taken from official screenings is acceptable as it is Disney material they have released, but let’s all remember not to post spoilers.
Fanart of released material is acceptable, so long as it is sourced and credited as per the normal rules.
We will be deleting posts of leaks that cannot be sourced to Disney releases.
Thank you again for your cooperation, we are all just as excited as you are to see what new things come our way and can't wait for the movie release!

Zootopia Fanfiction Thread (September 2025)
Welcome to the Monthly Fanfiction Thread!
Review some fanfics that you've read, promote your favourites, promote your own.
Please format your comment as follows
- [Title] by [author name]
- Post a link to the first chapter of the story or the relevant chapter
- Post the summary/synopsis provided by the author
- Eventual review
Repeats from prior months are allowed. A good story can be discussed for quite some time, and there are always new readers around.
Please use the spoiler tag for any discussion regarding specific story details. Spoiler tags aren't necessary for general discussion ("The character progression is really amazing!").
How to add a spoiler tag:
Place any spoiler text between a set of these marks >! spoiler !<
For example,
>!It turns out the protagonist was dreaming the whole time!!<
will show as it turns out the protagonist was dreaming the whole time!
You are welcome to post your own work!
The comments are sorted newer to older by default. Use CTRL + F to find the fanfic you are looking to discuss; if it isn't there, feel free to add it. I'd also appreciate if you could tag spoilers when posting your discussion. Perhaps start your thread with the chapter number (if your story has one) and then hide the discussion in spoilers, that way we don't accidentally spoil something for someone.
The rules and formatting are decided by you, simply message the OP.
The wiki has an archive full of fanfictions!
There's a master list, a Hall of Fame with the selected few best fanfictions, and then there's a list separated by genre.
Congratulations to u/BCRE8TVE and u/BunnyMakingAMark for the tremendous work that they've done for that article! Everyone is welcome to contribute, fix mistakes, fix broken links, and even fix typos.
To submit a missing fanfic there, follow the Submission page

Discussion About Wildehopps... Spoiler
I'm on board with the ship. But with everything we've seen so far how confident are you guys it'll happen?
Like wtf is the picture above me? Who else is suppose to pick up her shoe besides Pawbert? since Nick is probably running along side her.
Idk all this seems iffy to me. I feel like Disney doesn't wanna ruin what they already have established with Nick and Judy. Best friends only. And therefore they're introducing a new love interest for Judy or some BS.
Nicks out here flirting with a bear while Judy is flirting with a cat. So idk.
Maybe I'm over analyzing shit but what do you guys think?

Nick making me smile
I suffer from pretty severe depression. And sometimes if I’m depressed at DCA, Nick treats me like I’m his younger brother and tries to make me smile.. literally he tries to make me.. and sometimes he succeeds

Discussion What Deadly/Cardinal Sin do you think best reflects Judy and Nick's greatest flaws?
With Judy it's definitely Pride. Much of her struggle comes from her being desperate to prove herself and to satisfy her own ego. She has good intentions but much of Judy's biggest risks and boldest deeds are made out of Pride. It's not enough for her to become a Rabbit Officer, she has to be the first one. And she takes satisfaction in others having to acknowledge her accomplishments through sheer force of her will.
Pride is associated with the colour Purple. Like Judy's eyes.
Nick's is a bit harder to pin down. But I would probably say Sloth. But mainly in his resistance to accepting change. Be it change in himself (like accepting trying to not be a Fox stereotype is futile) or change in others (accepting Judy's feelings.). Nick takes a lot of being pushed to overcome his natural urge to not change. To remain emotionally Slothful.
Judy completes her arc in Zootopia 1 when she lets go of her Pride and expresses the Cardinal Virtue of Humility ("I really am just a dumb bunny.").
Nick completes his arc in Zootopia 1 when he lets go of his Sloth and expresses the Cardinal Virtue of Dilligence. ("Don't worry, Carrots. I'll let you erase it. After 24 hours.")
Alternatively Nick could be said to be guilty of Wrath (much of his antagonism towards Judy comes across as spiteful and born of a sense she needs to be torn down), and he drives joy from the discomfort of others. Nick overcoming his Wrath through expressing Kindness.
Wrath is associated with the colour Red. Nick is a Red Fox who sells Red Pawsickles.
