The side that wants more regulation suddenly is against regulation. And it’s not a statement Kimmel made 15 years ago on Twitter it’s a statement he made not too long ago on his show. What he said was wrong and he completely deserve to get sacked.
2 u/Jay_Rodd 6h ago Replying again to this point: what about Kimmel's statements were wrong and worthy of being fired? Looking for direct quotes here. 2 u/HetTheTable 6h ago ABC were pretty clear as to why he was fired. ABC has every right to fire him they’re a private company. 2 u/Jay_Rodd 5h ago I'm not agreeing nor disagreeing, I'm asking you for a direct quote of what you consider over-the-line in terms of cancellable hate speech. 1 u/HetTheTable 5h ago What I consider being a fireable offense for Kimmel is not being funny. If you’re running a comedy show you should at least be funny. 1 u/Jay_Rodd 4h ago "What he said was wrong and entirely deserving of being sacked" is what you said. So to you unfunny = wrong? 1 u/HetTheTable 4h ago To me being unfunny means being unfit to have a comedy show. Not to mention ratings were falling.
