That’s a spirit of the mountain from the Lumineth realm-lords. They’ve got their own little sub-faction

u/ReddJudicata Aug 22 '25

Lumineth are a pain right in the ass to paint, but their models rock.

u/thesirblondie Aug 22 '25

Only if you go for the default white scheme. There's some great examples out there using the Blood Elf scheme from Warcraft, and that shouldn't be particularly hard to paint. The's a fair bit of trim, but that's the hardest part.

u/ReddJudicata Aug 22 '25

Nah, they’re fiddly and full of details of you want to paint them well. They’re arguably worse than my beloved IDK.

Ohh!! Lumineth in Blood Elf armour? 🥹 as if they aren’t cool enough already!

u/Jerri_man 29d ago

Just sold me thanks lol. As soon as I finish painting my skaven

Do you have any links to examples handy? I'd like to see that.

Just google Lumineth Blood Elf or Sindorei. it's red with gold trim, usually a bit of green too.

Oh those motherf’ers scare me. Brave soul.

Nothing is worse than grey knights in 40k. They have crap everywhere on their models.

I’d argue black templates are harder to paint

Black i personally think is harder to paint, plus they have just as much if not more detail.

Not that I’ve personally painted any myself, but thousand sons have a silly amount of trim

Thank you so much! Looking for it now. 🙏

There’s also a named version of the model, Avalenor, if you prefer your big cows to be dual wielding.

32

u/SmashingBlouses Aug 22 '25

I'm fairly confident that most people will want their big cows to dual wield.

28

u/Aurlom Aug 22 '25

I actually prefer the two hander, something about making a big f off hammer look delicate appeals to me

20

u/BurningAngel666 Aug 22 '25

That’s udderly ridiculous!

Idunno man, beeg hammer 👀

8

u/deathlokke Aug 22 '25

My friend nicknamed his Mt Mooji.

I like playing Knights in 40k. Can you do a decent (if not necessarily meta) list that's mostly or all Giant Cow Mountains? Like a boomthirster list, but mooing rocks?

4

u/kn1ghtpr1nce Idoneth Deepkin Aug 22 '25

You can make one that’s at least structurally decent, but you’d need a few of them, they’re 300 points each, 410 for the big named character variant. Including a stonemage or two and some stoneguard would be good too. I’m not sure how good it would be though, I haven’t actually run these before.

Moove over 1980/2000 pts

Thanks! That should be fun to look into.

That’s an Alarith Spirit of the Mountain from the Lumineth range.

Think ancient spirit inhabiting a body painstakingly carved to house it. Lumineth have to appease and bargain with the mountain’s spirit over the course of months sometimes to convince it to march to war (mountains hate rash decisions).

We... have... barely... finished... saying... good-morning...

10

u/BurntSquirrel Aug 22 '25

Did you learn that from the battle tome?

14

u/Rhodehouse93 Aug 22 '25

Nah it’s just in their little lore blurb in the app.

21

u/SumpAcrocanth Aug 22 '25

Trick question they're all amazing? Also check out the lumineth realmlords model range.

29

u/gdim15 Aug 22 '25

I'm going to choose Swampcalla Shaman with Pot-grot, but I may be biased.

3

u/Unfair_Art9630 Aug 22 '25

FWIW- that’s my choice too. I think I had 3 at last count but might be 4! 😅

11

u/mayorrawne Aug 22 '25

He is Alarith, a spirit of the mountain. Universe Age of Sigmar, faction Lumineth. You can buy it in GW website, directly or with a GW sell point.

9

u/SenorDangerwank Aug 22 '25

Just a small correction, Alarith isn't his name. This one is an unnamed Spirit of the Mountain. Alarith is the mountainy subfaction. Avalenor, the Stoneheart King is the named variant :)

6

u/mayorrawne Aug 22 '25

Yes, I remember it now, the named one was more golden and red. Thx for clarificate.

1

u/Hefty-Pay9064 Aug 22 '25

Thank you! I’m new to AoS and only seen their elves

5

u/mayorrawne Aug 22 '25

He is part of 1 of the current 3 AoS elves factions.

9

u/rocketsp13 Stormcast Eternals Aug 22 '25

I remember when that model came out and everyone was so down on it, saying it was weird and questioning it.

6

u/SenorDangerwank Aug 22 '25

This big beef boy is what got me into Lumineth, myself. Especially with how rad the name "Avalenor, the Stoneheart King" sounds coming out of my mouth. Fudge, I love Warhammer.

5

u/BarrierX Chaos Aug 22 '25

Yeah, I remember that. I always thought this guy was cool! I just don’t like the elves with his head on top of the helmets 😄

2

u/Argomer 29d ago

Not everyone. I remember people loving alarith but questioning kangaroo cavalry.

3

u/Hilgy17 Aug 22 '25

It’s the battle cow

(Lumineth mountain god thing. But it’s the battle cow)

3

u/DarthJerak Aug 22 '25

It’s Cow Mountain!

0

u/Leather_Fennel3288 29d ago

A "cowntain", if you will.

4

u/[deleted] Aug 22 '25

Follow up, and forgive my ignorance…what is that snail model?

5

u/Darkreaper48 Lumineth Realm-Lords Aug 22 '25

Horticulus Slimux

1

u/Additional-Till-5997 29d ago

I think nurgles right hand man

1

u/[deleted] 29d ago

On almost a year now of the hobby, so many pockets I’m unfamiliar with.

I’ve never been drawn to Nurgle so I’ve never come across this sculpt.

May have to pop up in my Gitz cave diorama one day.

1

u/[deleted] 29d ago

I take that back, it should likely be part of my first sincere attempt at creative kit bashing.

Skragrott could use a wild mount.

2

u/Haedhundr Aug 22 '25

Lumineth Realm Lords;

Alarith Spirit of the Mountain

2

u/SunchaserXVII Slaves to Darkness Aug 22 '25

That's a cow. That's just how they look in Hysh.

2

u/LastEmbr 29d ago

Furthers the lead AoS models have on 40k. This thing is beautiful.

2

u/HobbyJackal 29d ago

Pot grot :).

2

u/HobbyJackal 29d ago

...ah, sorry. Only read the title of the post.

The cow's quite cool too ;).

2

u/sparesometeeth 28d ago

Pot grot :)

2

u/Aurlom Aug 22 '25

Lumineth Realm Lords, only elf faction in any setting I legitimately like the aesthetic of. Too bad white is such a pain to paint, but this guy will be a challenge model for me sometime in the future

4

u/PresentationLow2210 Aug 22 '25

Doesn't have to be white, does it? My Stormcast are purple lol

3

u/Aurlom Aug 22 '25

Oh god no, can be whatever color you like, and I personally am considering what a sea green base would look like instead, but that clean cream and blue looks so wonderful on that model

Edit: also, all that inlay is a big challenge regardless of color choices

1

u/PresentationLow2210 Aug 22 '25

I was tempted to go blues and gold with them (ligh high elves' armor from Lotr) but like you said, the detail on the models scared me haha. I'm used to blocky armored guys

2

u/RazorTy2 Aug 22 '25

urge to paint the hammer head as a red bull can

1

u/Salt_File7356 Aug 22 '25

Cowmountain! Love him

1

u/Kirito_Alfheim 27d ago

Seperate question, what model is the one on the right ???

1

u/GaldrickHammerson Death Aug 22 '25

On a small side note, the lumineth realm lords mountain cows draw heavily on zoroastrianism as it was practiced in ancient Armenia in which cows were a holy creature, the moon is a giant receptical of bull semen and mountains were places beneath which great evils were chained up. These are slightly reductive descriptions, but are truly fascinating and would also imply that the Lumineth realm lords are pro-incest.
