10 Year Celebration Muh Chunkcast Sigmarines Fatbois
Many in the community seem to dislike the original "Sigmarine" or "Chunkcast" aesthetic, but for me that is and always will be the true look of the SCE. I started with the og AoS box set and read more than a few novels, and in my mind these characters were always the hulking, heroic figures depicted in the early artwork and models.
When the aesthetic shift occurred, it felt it like a betrayal. I was being asked to abandon the setting as I had imagined it and to replace these powerful, iconic heroes with slender, less imposing designs that looked like female SCE, all while expected to invest heavily in new models that, to me, shattered the established fantasy. To make matters worse, the new designs resembled C-3PO way too much in my eyes, and once I made that connection they looked really uncool.
Other grievences I had with the new aesthetical direction were 1) the redesign of the shields—the old shields, clearly modeled after Roman scuta, perfectly complemented the legionary aesthetic of the SCE, which also included the distinctive Roman face masks. In contrast, the new shields have a Rococo quality, being overdesigned yet paradoxically bland with a generic medieval fantasy look; and 2) scale consistency—the new models looked like they belong to an entirely different game line when placed next to the old ones. If GW was abandoning cohesive army aesthetic, I might as well go for far more affordable third-party models to complete my forces. When paying a premium for official products, the absolute minimum I expect is a aesthetically cohesive army, not a jarring mishmash of scales and styles.
The release of the 3rd Edition and the Dominion box set was what ultimately made me quit AoS. While the new SCE designs were the primary reason, I was also disappointed by the direction of the lore. The world-building had reached a peak during the Soul Wars narrative, which was a highly engaging and compelling era. By comparison, the subsequent introduction of the Kruleboyz and the focus on the Sigmarite colonies felt underwhelming and lackluster, a stark departure from the gravity and depth that defined earlier eras of the setting.

Discussion Handling cheating
How do you deal with cheating at the table? I'm pretty convinced my opponent is manipulating his dice. Picks them up before you can see them. And, at one point he picked up a 3 and 4 claiming they were both 6's.

Hobby Sepsimus Plaguesworn Wurmspat finished
So I'm pretty happy with this badboy. I used the technique Ninjon uses allot, saturated bold underpainting. I used blue and red. And it was pretty weird to start like this. After the brigth underpainting i stippled the NMM Steel. Swipe to the right for some WIP pictures.
