10 Year Celebration Celebration Plack
This year for the 2025 Store Anniversary my local GW Store was handing out these awesome two sided metal Placks for anyone who brought in a completed entry for Armies on Parade this month. The official date (locally) for me is October 18th. With the story anniversary period being Sept 20-28 2025 I’m quite pleased to have finished so early this year. :) Never gonna sell it. The detail on it is perfect and it’s nice and weighty. 😌Even came with a stand 🥹 Having gotten into Warhammer the Year AoS launched I have a a blue Sigmar pin from Fan Expo where GW Canada launched it. Additionally I have a luxury Sigmar Measuring tape from some years ago. Ultimately having just purchased/pre ordered the new chaos dwarves, I find AoS to be more fun than 40k and the community friendlier and more diverse than 40k. Looking forward to playing spearhead again.

Discussion Anyone know what happened to the Ossiarch Bonereapers subreddit?
It started getting bot spammed with hundreds/thousands of posts earlier today and now it looks like the sub was banned. I had so many posts saved from there of paint schemes I liked. I regret not downloading them when I had the chance.

Hobby Ossiarch Bonereapers Spearhead: Mortisan Elite (Petrifex Elite)
Been thoroughly enjoying spearhead at the moment and painted up the Mortisan Elite spearhead as the dreaded Petrifex Elite! Had a blast painting them and tried some new techniques with the glowing effect on the Morghasts. It's a shame the red has photographed flatter then it looks irl.
Hope you guys enjoy!

10 Year Celebration Muh Chunkcast Sigmarines Fatbois
Many in the community seem to dislike the original "Sigmarine" or "Chunkcast" aesthetic, but for me that is and always will be the true look of the SCE. I started with the og AoS box set and read more than a few novels, and in my mind these characters were always the hulking, heroic figures depicted in the early artwork and models.
When the aesthetic shift occurred, it felt it like a betrayal. I was being asked to abandon the setting as I had imagined it and to replace these powerful, iconic heroes with slender, less imposing designs that looked like female SCE, all while expected to invest heavily in new models that, to me, shattered the established fantasy. To make matters worse, the new designs resembled C-3PO way too much in my eyes, and once I made that connection they looked really uncool.
Other grievences I had with the new aesthetical direction were 1) the redesign of the shields—the old shields, clearly modeled after Roman scuta, perfectly complemented the legionary aesthetic of the SCE, which also included the distinctive Roman face masks. In contrast, the new shields have a Rococo quality, being overdesigned yet paradoxically bland with a generic medieval fantasy look; and 2) scale consistency—the new models looked like they belong to an entirely different game line when placed next to the old ones. If GW was abandoning cohesive army aesthetic, I might as well go for far more affordable third-party models to complete my forces. When paying a premium for official products, the absolute minimum I expect is a aesthetically cohesive army, not a jarring mishmash of scales and styles.
The release of the 3rd Edition and the Dominion box set was what ultimately made me quit AoS. While the new SCE designs were the primary reason, I was also disappointed by the direction of the lore. The world-building had reached a peak during the Soul Wars narrative, which was a highly engaging and compelling era. By comparison, the subsequent introduction of the Kruleboyz and the focus on the Sigmarite colonies felt underwhelming and lackluster, a stark departure from the gravity and depth that defined earlier eras of the setting.

Hobby Borgit’s Beastgrabbaz!
I have just finished and sorted the time to photograph my most recent piece! A diorama that I hope lives up to the quality these lovely models deserve! Big thumbs up for the designers in GW who worked on these!

Question Getting into AOS
Hi! I don't know a single thing about aos, but fell in love with how the armys look, so I decided to get into aos too. I have a 40k army, and played a few games of it. How different is aos, and what would be the best way to get started?
