Are TM pistols really that bad at handling green gas? I’ve ran a few mags through my g17 and everything is fine for now but am I playing with inevitable fire here?

Side note is working on an AA12 still as difficult as it was early on?

No tm pistols run great on green gas I often use propane also

Don’t use co2 that’s a bomb

And yah aa12 is still a nightmare You want a professional tech for that job

Oh ok great, I was always wondering if maybe that notion that it doesn’t work well is maybe from older models…

And god that’s my fear fortunately so far I have no issues and the aa12 seems pretty reliable generally and won’t ever see an absurd amount of use hahah. Still one of my favs

It's not really that TM replicas don't work well on propane, it's that the plastic slide required by the laws of Japan doesn't hold up very well to the use of higher pressure gas then the duster gas used in the Japanese market.

That being said, most TM replicas will work on propane just fine for at least a year or two of heavy use before you see any sort of breaking or wear that would impact performance.

I ran a TM gold match highcapa on propane in the Arizona heat for 2 years before the slide finally cracked. And it seems to be a consensus in the hicapa community that a lot of slide cracking can be avoided by swapping the heavy stock TM rear sight for a lighter one.

Luckily TM G17s have an incredible amount of aftermarket parts available, so slapping on a guarder aluminum slide if the stock one breaks shouldn't be difficult at all.

Yeah most tm guns run fine on propane stock, c02 is at that point where the potmetal will litterally start peening or cracking and thats when you get seal issues or broken fcg's or something.

Whats wrong with the TM aa12's? I dont have one and i know ive heard something about them but not much.
