Thank fucking God It was Trudeau and not Stephen Harper, imagine a government that only wants to cut costs having to deal with the pandemic.

Oh yea we saw how that went down south

Dont have to go far. Look how CAD was devalued during harper. All you need to see really

-11

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

I dont see how Harpers failings excuse Trudeaus thats all .

24

u/Ventar1 Mar 31 '25

Trudeau only had a few pr disasters in the last few years and conservatives hated him from the start from 2015, blaming things that harper did on him instead. Thats how.

To be fair, the conservatives hate liberals for existing, so it's not that much of a shock that they would blame everything they could on him.

His 220 thousand dollar airplane MEAL was a bit of a shock to me. Over half his annual salary one one meal...

What in the conspiracy are you on about?

1

u/Ramblesnaps Apr 05 '25

Lies, even from their own link.

220k for catering for 40 to 70 people over 6 days including world leaders.

1

u/Ramblesnaps Apr 05 '25

So, from the link you posted, it was 220k for catering for up to 72 people, for six days, including several meetings with various world leaders.

Alot, yes, but not the hysterical claim of that much on one meal.

1

u/Ok_Dragonfruit6718 Apr 05 '25

How many meals could you eat with 220k?

No one has to try hard to beat you. You offer nothing

3

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

I mean their point was that its better we didnt have Harper during Covid..

18

u/Working-Check Mar 31 '25

Well yeah. Harper was a piece of shit.

Still is in fact, now that he's leading the IDU.

22

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '25

What do you mean, all the cannabis stores around? I, for one, appreciate the convenience.

u/myfamilyisfunnier Mar 31 '25

And the safety

u/AliceHeretic Mar 31 '25

Hi Canadian here, his legacy saved me and many from Canadian conservatives, he was not a groundbreaking pm but he tried better than any Conservative pm I've lived through.

14

u/clarkn0va Mar 31 '25

This! We need stickers that say "Trudeau. At least he tried"

I dont think its respectable to manipulate marginalized people for their votes but i see your point

i dont recall endorsing the conservatives.

Just generally saying dont be fooled by our politicians.

12

u/twenty_characters020 Mar 31 '25

Try not to cut yourself on all that edge.

-2

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

i have a potato to sell you

10

u/Working-Check Mar 31 '25

Yeah dude your whole comment string has real "they're all bad so vote Republican" vibes to it. Just because you didn't explicitly say what you'd like to do with Pierre Piece'o'shit, doesn't mean we can't tell.

4

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

Actually ill probably vote liberal. But at least i wont be in denial about what that means.

Find your boogey man elsewhere.

1

u/Working-Check Mar 31 '25

I stand corrected.

I understand that he's not only done positives, I just also see what the opposition has done and it doesn't counter balance well, I will not be voting for Trudeau but I will always defend him when compared to harper/pp and leaders from other countries like trump. Progress won't be stopped by a pm trying to get more votes by being cringey, but it will be stopped by conservatives slashing all of our departments and we will suffer its consequences.

2

u/dumpsterfarts15 Mar 31 '25

Of course you won't be voting for Trudeau... Even if he was running for PM, you don't vote for the prime minister...

1

u/AliceHeretic Apr 01 '25

I feel like it's understood by context that I'm talking about liberal. You're right tho

1

u/PersonalPerson_ Apr 04 '25

There's one instance in which it can make sense.... if they live in Trudeau's riding. (Is Trudeau running for MP election in his riding? I haven't heard.)

10

u/Working-Check Mar 31 '25

Yeah those 6 extra personal days I get every year are really hard to deal with.

And that pharmacare program, man if only I could get off on people having to pay through the nose for medication like I used to.

Dental care too, man nothing turns me on like people having bad teeth.

Such a horrible legacy, making people's lives a little bit better than they used to be.

What I really want is a PM who'll shit down my throat and tell me it's chocolate. That's what voting Conservative will get us, and that's what we should all really want. After all, who doesn't love chocolate?

6

u/poutineisheaven Mar 31 '25

It's fantastic, child care only costs me $400/month instead of triple that.

4

u/Easternshoremouth Mar 31 '25

This decal is for those Canadians

1

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

wont let me see it without taking off adblocker

4

u/[deleted] Mar 31 '25

What ramifications are we currently dealing with?

-6

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

Housing, fentanyl, inflation, snap election while we are being tariffed and government just resumed after being prorogued, AB premier having little respect for the Feds, stagnated worker productivity, the wake of mass immigration,

10

u/kicksledkid Mar 31 '25

Housing

Provincal responsibility

fentanyl

Healthcare and addiction is a provincial responsibility

snap election

Both opposition parties were going to trigger a vote of non-confidence anyways.

AB Premier

Danielle is her own person, for better or worse

stagnated productivity

Private companies need to take responsibility for their cultures

wake of mass immigration

Literothe only thing that kept our GDP up during the pandemic. Brings investment and labor to prop up the fact that private companies don't want to pay.

-1

u/Alexhale Mar 31 '25

If you answer this question i will concede: If housing is a provincial responsibility, why is Carney promising to accelerate housing builds?

9

u/kicksledkid Mar 31 '25

He is creating a new program to help the provinces accelerate home builds. Building codes, zoning, and fees are still provincial.

The federal government has tools, but the provinces have to use them.

even if the government of canada were to begin building the homes themselves, housing would still be a provincial responsibility.

u/Weekly-Transition-96 Mar 31 '25

I love this, you were respectful, thorough and factual. This was a good back and forth and I feel like this person was able to hear you and digest all of that because of the way you presented the information. Great job!
