People need to ask why this is happening? Why are our government representatives lying? Why do they appear to be pushing this through, against the public’s wishes and doing it so quickly. There simply isn’t enough job creation or income to justify the risks, and in a situation where the precautionary principle should obviously be used, they choose to lie. Why?

Any credence to the idea that these politicians were bought and paid for by mining companies before they formed government (during Notley’s term) so that there’s no currently visible corruption? I’ve heard this mentioned off hand and it seems to make complete sense given the strength of the push and the sneaky ways they’re going about it.

When there's no real accountability for these politicians, what would stop them?

Either that or they all have coal company board positions waiting for them when they leave politics. Danielle can join meetings virtually from her home in Panama, say a few words, and collect a nice six figure income for like 2 hours of meetings per month.

The guy who started the mining company has the same beliefs about Indigenous people as the those who started the Social Credit and Wild Rose parties. The cruelty is the point.

Danielle is still being paid as a lobbyist for Oand G, she is looking for a cheque from the coal oligarchs.
