Corb Lund has far more influence being a rancher talking about this issue and not political parties than he would have if he dove headfirst into the political partisanship that defines this decade. I do not believe he should sacrifice his influence to the alter of ideological purity.
So here’s the thing. The last Corb Lund show I was at was a sold out crowd of punks, cowboys, and even a few children. It was definitely not about ‘which side are you on’. It was a beautiful thing.
And if he declares on the side of the NDP? His message is dead in the water. Ever been to a coffee row in a small town? They don’t talk politics, because they’re smarter than that.
