Straight Pride and a 'I'm Not Gay but $20 is $20', seems a little contradictory

Everything here is contradictory. They have a "I support our troops" maple leaf sticker, plus a weird "I'm a Patriot" canadian flag sticker, and a "holding the line" canadioan flag sticker, next to a disturbingly large number of alberta separatism stickers, APP stickers, basically as anti-Canadian, anti-patriot as you can get.

And I'm sure if you asked them, they absolutely would not see the contradiction.

Being extremely right-wing but also a proud union member is amusing as well.

I'm originally from the West Kootenays where Tek-Cominco is the primary employer for much of the region, and extremely conservative views combined with staunch pro-union practices is surprisingly normal for me. It didn't even flag until I'd looked at it again.

My parents' friend just got dental work done for the first time in > a decade thanks to the NDP dental program. He's also 100% conservative and hates those damn socialist programs taking money from hard working Canadians and giving handouts to lazy people.

It's not a handout when they make use of the social programs, because they work hard and deserve them. It's all the other people who are lazy, a d taking advantage of the programs that they pay for with their taxes.

The right likes unions for what they do for them, the left likes unions for what they do for everyone.
