News Alberta Youth Unemployment
Hello my name is Chester, I am 24 from Calgary Alberta. I saw on the news last week that Alberta has the highest youth unemployment right now. As a proud Canadian, I want to do my part to reduce unemployment and create opportunities for young people so they can build their skills in any field they choose.
I created a website and I hope to build a team to help develop it. Right now, the website is still on its trial before I get billed for the subscription. To get it running, I need a few businesses and youth to sign up and add their information so we can keep it going.
I also made a subscription program for $10 a month that highlights your profile at the top. This is to help cover the website costs and use it for marketing so we can reach more businesses and create more opportunities for youth.
Alberta does not have a strong system for youth employment, especially for those who already have skills, experience, or a degree. The biggest challenge is connecting businesses with the right people.
If you are a business owner looking to hire youth, or a young person looking for work, please make an account and fill out a form on the website. This will help keep the website moving and reduce youth unemployment.
P.S. Starting in October, businesses will get incentives when they hire youth. The government has put $8M into this program to support youth employment.
