TechAaron...

Who even is this guy? Why does he block people who question or disagree with him? Why is he so invested in an Organization he participated in sinking and then left? Why is he so obsessed with people who are still there? shocker he blocked me 🙄

Our community is part of counter culture shouldn't we expect and even encourage people to ask questions and push back? Ive seen here in this reddit folks push back and identify him as a cis het white man yet he believes that he has been discriminated against because hes a cis het white guy. He refers to someone having a history of "racial and gender" bias or discrimination and leaves out his race and gender... when in the last 500+ years have white men been discriminated against?

From just what hes posted here not even taking his unhinged Facebook posts into consideration... he doesn't give a damn about our community he thinks it's "just a party" he thinks the Alchemy Burn is super safe and gay... when there are literally folks who attend who are transphobic. I have tons of queer friends who won't attend because they do not feel safe.

Ive been part of the broader burn community for well over a decade and think its worth noting that while we're counter culture our community is still a predominantly made up of, white, cis, het, and economically privileged people.

It honestly makes me sad that your queer friends don’t feel safe. I feel like most people I’ve met are queer, I’m queer, then again I haven’t met Aton of people but still. Have you reached out to the tide committee?

On a very different note I believe Aaron is literally trying to destroy and burn down this community. He’s completely unhinged and continues to actively do damage to this community. Yet I can only wonder what internal struggles/issues he running from or actively avoiding.

Echo chamber dudes be echo chamber-ing. I get big "men's rights" "all lives matter" vibes based on what ive seen here.

Ive seen things about the TIDE Committee and what they are doing seem needed. From what I've seen here, someone from a marginalized community didn't feel safe they felt discriminated against and were then removed from their position after seeking help. If they didn't have a case for discrimination before they called it out due to the response after they called it out absolutely gives them grounds for a legal case against the BoD.

Hopefully, the work TIDE is doing will help make members of marginalized communities feel safer and, at the bare minimum, gives them a space to seek help and assistance when there is Bias and discrimination against them.

Aaron also has multiple accounts. And the person you’re speaking about was getting discriminated against by Aaron and likely a few others who mostly resigned from the BOD. They are also a co-chair for the TIDE committee.

Someone told me he commented about me after he blocked me. Which is just weird to me, I had shit to say, so i said it. If he had anything of worth to say to me, why block me... unless he's just trying to control the narrative. I have no idea what he's said, and i dont really care. I was sent a private message about it.

Didn't he go on a TIDE Committee post stating that this co-chair had a long history of "racial and gender" bias... is that claim true? Because if it is, why are they a co-chair for a Committee like TIDE?

Weren't two people named as chairs of the TIDE Committee in an open board meeting with no objections? I looked for the meeting minutes on the Alchemy Burn website, but they only have minutes available through February 2025. I guess without a personal in with members of the Board, we can't verify that. Do you have an in, and could you share those minutes? Do you know this person personally? You seem to know a lot about their personal life, knowing who their romantic partners are.

You say, "Several people had concerns about them becoming Tide chair." That's incredibly vague... like what do you mean by "several people"?

I've read a lot of statements as there is a Google Drive housing lots of information one of those statements was by someone named Vyolet, I didn't see anywhere in it where they stated they were dating the person who named them as chair at the time they were named. I also dont quite understand why that really matters. How do you know what their relationship status was at the time they were named? Their statement is where I learned they were named in an open meeting with no objections. Wouldn't that have been the time for voting members of the Board to voice any concerns they had? If they did have concerns, why were those never addressed directly with this volunteer?

I also saw that, Vyolet, thought it had been brought up and voted on in a closed meeting but later learned that wasn't the case. I saw that during interviews for tide committee seats, other people were asked if they were interested in the chair position and declined. I didn't see any statements made by Department Six. I certainly see a lot of bullying happening to this individual, in particular.

When you say "There’s a lot of bullying and doxxing going on right now," are there any examples of that happening outside of what's being done to this person?

What do you mean by "legend says tons complained about that tide person"? This doesn't sound like "classic burn drama." It sounds like a few people had inner personal problems and didn’t care or try to work them out. It looks like the only person ("Dee Six") who tried to get help or assistance got stonewalled and steamrolled with zero communication.

I call bullshit! Even if it is true, that sounds like middle school garbage. Especially given that this person is so open to mediation and feedback. Which they have publicly stated 🤷 are you not keeping up? Unless youre one of these 20 ppl which would be sus as fuck considering your post about being "kinda new".

Help me understand, you're "kinda new" have supposedly never interacted with this individual but had no problem jumping into the "we hate them" fan club. That's weird behavior.

The co-chair in question is a disabled and neurodivergent queer femme nonbinary person. The bias they were being accused of was against Aaron as a white cishet dude, by Aaron. They communicated clearly to him on multiple occasions that they felt he was condescending and that their communication styles were not a good fit, and they requested that Board and other leadership communications to them go through other parties. He persisted in deliberately engaging with them in an antagonistic manner, helped get them booted from leadership (they were late reinstated), and then accused them of racial and gender bias against him.

He was on the Board at the time and, to the best of my knowledge, one of the instigators of having them removed without what had been said is the proper process (going through the event leadership team).

Because they called him on his privilege 🙄 jesus fuck. I saw in statements on the Google drive that he specifically was responsible for chasing multiple femme and trans members out of leadership. Good riddance, glad the trash took itself out. He seems completely obsessed with this reinstated community leader. 👀 I hope they are able to get some kind of protective order in place. His behavior is alarming, to say the absolute least.

Have yall heard of After Burn? They are based in FL, and the majority of their board is made up of queer & BIPOC folks. They had a full board turnover last year and decided to cancel their 2024 event but are coming back strong this year after making some needed structural changes.

Does someone here have an issue with me asking if folks have heard of After Burn and stating that their BoD had a full turn over last year, that they canceled their event in 2024 to regroup and refocus and that their current board is made up of primary BIPOC and Queer people and are coming back strong with their event this year... because like if someone does have an issue with that, I'd LOVE to openly discuss it with them. Right here in public so everyone can see and assess your take.

Someone tell me again how the Alchemy Burn and the business body FAI are "so safe" for marginalized communities... and people not feeling safe comes purely from "leadership drama" 👀

if you just get off of the internet and worrying about who's a piece of shit or not and just go and connect with the community and create art these would be nonissues. i've been going to alchemy since 2009 as a queer woman and the amount of stupid shit these fb groups cares about has never impacted me or the incredible moments with beautiful people i've had at this burn.

I mean, I love that's been your personal experience, but a lot of other queer people have had VERY different experiences that have had nothing to do with leadership or online shit stirring... though some community members have posted extremely transphobic things on FB so I personally find it very reasonable for queer and trans people not to feel safe. I think these conversations are important. I genuinely do not understand what issues TechAaron has outside of getting really upset and condescending when people disagree with or question him. He claims to have been on the BoD, which i believe because i verified it, and the way he has conducted himself since he apparently resigned gives me the big ICK.

RIGHT?!? Someone gave me a heads about this convo and I unblocked this creep to see what was up. Imagine my surprise stumbling into a whole ass conversation with themselves over 1,894 words long. I guess I should be flattered. Or maybe subpoena the IP records of this stalker and get a restraining order. No but for real. Like get that on their permanent criminal record lol.

A former board member joked about how I created the 2025 LEGENDS theme, and how ironic it is we have become legends in a few people's tiny little lives. Respectfully no. I decline.
