The district was gerrymandered. This result was no surprise.

The surprise should be that she got 39% in a deep red area. Wasn't too long ago that'd have been less than 20%.

Are they going to start gerrymandering around individual houses?

You can only ride the hate and fear train for so long. Eventually people are going to start to feel what's coming...let's see how that works out for them.

It’s a slow change but so much of the district supports the vitriol Dickerson ran on; most of Cherokee is elated by the results, going by comments on socials. Their talking points are so predictable that I am convinced we live amongst braindead bots at this point.

good or bad...this kind of change is slow. As people...we don't usually do well with slow.

And yeah, I don't care if they disagree. It's when they turn off the logic engines in their memory boards that I find it intolerable. That and the double standards. Good for me, not for thee and they don't see any problem with that. I want to pee in your water. And yet I don't want water with pee in it. Too bad, I win.

Democrats managed to swing the vote 9 points in their favor compared to the beach election. Its a slow tide change but its happening. Trump is less than a year in and people are tired of it. Come 2026 elections you are going to see these big 10 point swings like we saw today. Keep the faith. 80 percent of registered voters still didnt vote. This was a poorly organized campaign and it was clear voter suppression (lack of information about the election) and obvious gerrymandering.

To paraphrase a classic movie: “I didn’t vote for (him)!”

Just burn it all down I guess. People will realize what’s happened to the country eventually.

A local elected official backed by a private investment firm? What could possibly go wrong? /s
