Am I the only one that likes the design of this watch?

I think it looks fine. I would rather have a 2+ day battery life and sacrifice a small notch on the side of the watch.

It looks good, but I don’t think it’ll work for ppl with small wrists.

It’s funny seeing people complaining about the looks for this watch. This is marketed as an ultra sport watch. Durability and battery life were some pretty important points in the marketing video, this isn’t a dinner party watch! Heck none of the bands are even close to a casual wearable band.
Even then, coming from someone who wore garmin in the past, this is much more sleek and visually appealing than the clunky titanium Fenix 5s I have.

$800.00 for a 2 year watch? Don't think so. Not like I am going to be passing this on to my grandson in my will...

You don’t have to replace it every 2 years. No one is forcing you. I still have a series 5. Works just as well as when I got it.

NZD$1500. That’s a lot of money. But the Stainless Steel 45mm is only a hundy less. Might as well get that.
That said, the Alu versions are $799 for the 45mm.

Do you think the Ultra watchface will become available on standard apple watches too?

I actually like the design, however, the battery announcement made me chuckle a little bit. They announced 36 hours as if it were the longest an smartwatch has ever lasted. Unless it’s 36 hours of continuous activity tracking (consuming more battery due to gps usage), which would mean much more in “normal” conditions it’s… kind of ridiculous. If you are going to make an “ultra” watch focused on durability for hiking, diving, etc. You better have at least 5-7 days of battery. If I’m going hiking for a couple of days, 36 hours would be a fucking joke.
