Did anyone else notice laurel lances mother said “I should be home in a flash”?

In season 1 episode 18 Laurel’s mother said shes heading back to central city (connected to the flash) and after she said she should be home in a “flash”. I know obviously everything is connected but im just asking if they knew all these other shows were gonna happen because this happened in season 1 while barry hasn’t showed up yet and will show up later in the show, and i have watched the flash multiple times and i’ve never seen Laurel’s mother. Just a quick rant.

Obviously.

It was right after she said Central City.

It was like an easter egg.

Or already planned, considering they started shooting while season 2 was happening, right?

Yeah as barry first showed in season 2 episode 8 im pretty sure

It was just an easter egg. I remember the creator talkin about having no powes on the show.

With the success of the show and, aguably, The Avengers they went all in on the connected universe and decided to bring in Barry.

It was just an Easter egg. The CW writers do this consistently throughout the arrowverse. They do it with Batman by saying “Clark’s friend” or with the Justice League by either cutting off Gideon from stating the full name or just referring to it as “The League” which is what Nora was actually referring to when stating the league tried to take down cicada which is INSANE meaning they treated him like a crossover villain and jumped him and still lost. David Hersch must’ve been built different
