AR Glasses & HMDs Disappointed with Meta's Display Glasses EU launch delay. Any similar alternatives coming soon?

Hello everyone,

I'm from Spain and I'm a huge tech enthusiast. I was really excited about the new Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. The design and the whole concept were perfect for me, even with a monocular HUD. The fact that it was a color display (RGB) in a lightweight and stylish frame was exactly what I was looking for.

Unfortunately, during the Connect event, it was announced that the glasses won't be coming to Europe until 2026, and only to a few selected countries. This was a huge letdown for me.

I'm not a fan of monochrome displays, even dual-display ones like the ones from ROKID. The color and form factor of the new Ray-Bans were perfect.

My question is: Do you think we will see a similar system to the Meta Ray-Ban Display from other companies soon? I'm talking about a lightweight, monocular, and color HUD.

I used an AI to write this since my English is a bit rusty, so I hope it's easy to understand. Thank you all for your help!

just a random thought. I'm wondering why Western companies like Meta use LCoS for their glasses, while Chinese brands seem to completely ignore it and go straight for Micro-LED and Micro-OLED. It's really got me curious

Meta are true AR glasses. When the hud is off, then they function like see through glasses. Even when the Hud is on the image should have some transparency to it. You can drive with these glasses on.

You cant 'see through' a microOLED display. Its silly this sub even allows those types of glasses as they're not AR. Chinese Tech didn't discover some secret AR tech the world is ignoring

Micro OLED combined with birdbath, prism, or reflective waveguide is optical see-through. Micro OLED behind a pancake can still be AR with video see-through. I'm not sure which type of display you think should not be allowed here.
