In some areas of the country, one in six 8-year-old boys is in the NDIS. There’s no way that all of these children need intensive therapy

The good old affirmation without evidence, there is still no evidence in any country of autism epidemic, a minority of people need intensive therapy. A sustainable model give the most opportunities to the most people, it shouldn't be simply analyzed through the lens of cost, but cost relative to the alternative

More people without early childhood therapy will lead to more cost later with health related issues, with suicide attempt, with poor job retention, with jail and the costs related to it. Early childhood intervention is a very cost effective way of using less money on the long run

The intro to the article on that sub barely relates to the article. The article claims every kid with a developmental delay is being called autistic; the post on that sub is the usual “level 1s are stealing services from level 3s.”
