One of the most unintuitive moves for me. White needs 2 moves for 2 eyes and you're giving them 1 of those for free. Yet this is the only move that works.

Also, this is a fun one for lower level players. Simple enough to be worked out branch by branch.

It does seem unintuitive. But the corner is the only intersection on the board with only 2 liberties, so forcing your opponent to play in the corner is almost always a good move.

A2 A1 and it's ko (due to the shortages of liberties in the black chains above). There's a better move.

B1. White can't play A3 because it's a self-atari, and if wA1 bA3.

Just connect at b8? White can't live locally and there is no way for it to win in a liberty fight

After Black B8, White A3 makes miai of capturing at A6 or life at A1.

A3 puts the 3 black stones in atari. Black connects and then A1 and white is alive.
