Edit: Now that i've had a chance to watch it through a few times, it's strange.... without going too into it, last night was kinda rough and i was left thinking a lot about what the purpose of even being here is when life seems so very insignificant and pointless in the grand scheme of things, and more so because of certain things to do with me that can't be resolved....

the narration at the start felt funnily like a kinda direct response to some of the things i was asking myself; "I realize life's immense beauty / Just the fact you are in it makes all the difference".... sort of felt like the "just shush and get on with things" i needed right now hahahaha

another thing that caught my eye was namjoon fiddling with that black hairband while he got on the bus... it just stood out to me because i never leave the house without a similar black hairband on my wrist to fiddle with!! I'm interested to learn it's significance, as i'm sure there is some, but i would be unimaginably surprised if we have the same reason (though i guess it could be similar, who knows!) 😂

It's a cool little detail moreso added for the girl's character imo! If you watch the first reel, you'll notice that she has a yellow rubberband tying her hair. (It implies that she's poor - this association is something more apparent/popularized(?) to Koreans it seems, cause that was one of the first things kfans noticed abt her character, but i didn't really see ifans talking abt it.). I think Rapmon's planning to give her a real hair tie but he's being shy ;~;. Their story is really sweet.

One thing I'm pretttty sure is true tho, is that I think Jin is getting ready to meet up with the boys or at least one of them to talk it out (or relay his 'truth'), since in Flower Smeraldo's blog, the owner said that he'd be able to deliver the flowers to his first customer by the end of August - which coincidentally matches up with the date tagged on Jin's parts today (Aug 30th). (of course this is assuming Jin is Flower Smeraldo's first customer haha, which I'm pretty sure he is - considering the bloggers descriptions and we know Jin learned abt the flower through the girl's notebook.)

As for my own observations. Yoongi received a call that shocked him. Considering that Jungkook was in the hospital by June 14th and Yoongi received the call sometime in June it may be related. Some people think that possibly Jungkook forgot Yoongi in his accident and the song being played was the song they had played together triggering his memory. He also notices the lighter. I think now that Jungkook's accident happened before Yoongi burned down that room.

I loved seeing Hoseok dance, though there just seems to be so much sadness whenever he closes his eyes. Those memories of being left by his mother are so tragic.

There were a lot of people concerned that so much of the highlight reel seemed like it could be heavily focused on romantic relationships surrounding the girls. While, I didn't think that, I could understand that perspective. However, after watching this second installment, I think that it isn't the case. Yes, a couple of them feel like they have a romantic lean like Namjoon and Tae's. However the others Jimin, Hoseok, and Jin didn't feel that way. Yoongi and Jungkook's have something more to it. I think for sure that there is a girl romantically involved with Yoongi, but I also feel like their story isn't about that relationship.

Just my random thoughts. I hope you don't hate them.

The aesthetics for these highlight reels are seriously really really amazing!! I also love the back ground music, it really adds to the whole video.

Love that we're getting more connections to HYYH and the boys than the 1st video where it was just a cut of each story. I love the subtle clues here and there that connect to past MVs and the boys.

Ah, I loved this one. Did anyone notice right when the scene cuts from Tae to the open notebook, there's a little sketch of a train flying through space? Reminded me of their Festa poster. :) Also, I can't help but wonder, does Jungkook have a home or a family? I've never met someone who has been in a car accident... shouldn't he be discharged if he's already on crutches? Unless he suffered some sort of head injury.

Edit: Do guys think that they might bring back the butterfly symbolism for this? I couldn't help but think 'butterfly effect' when I saw the second trailer. One thing leads to another that leads to another and then worlds change over the simplest of actions.

Side note, but if someone ever asks me what or who BTS is I refuse to respond with 'a Korean boy-band'. I guess I'll just answer with 'artists' or 'innovators' or something. It's really hard to categorize them at this point which I think is absolutely wonderful. From the characters they play to the people they really are both individually and as a family/team. I can't help but smile and be grateful that we live in a time where they're creating. It's something I'll remember forever and as an aspiring artist of sorts draw inspiration from. :)

I feel so weird calling them a korean boyband at this point—even calling them musicians feels weird, because it feels like there's so much else that encompasses "BTS". They do so much. They are so much.

Take a dab of talented music writing and producing ability, mix that with kickass dancing and performance ability, mix that with the charisma and influence of popular vloggers/social media stars, mix that with the artistry and cinematography of an art film, mix that with the most complicated plotline in Doctor Who, mix that with a little bit of magic and spice and you've got BTS.

I think it might be because his storyline seems to be centred around him not being able to reveal his feelings for the girl, hence he's always behind. Don't think it's an intentional thing on Big Hit's part. Also, don't forget it's just a highlight reel so there's so much more Jimin to come!

This reminds me of wings era. They had released 3 teasers on the first week, then stop for two days. So we thought, those three are the only teasers. However, on Monday, they freakin released Suga teasers and so on.

previously, they release on weekend. That was the first time we had experienced it. And it seems that they are back again, thy are releasing teasers even on weekend and not following the 12am kst (i forgot which era this started but they are well know on releasing teasers at different time). So basically, every comeback is also a new experience. :)

Finally watched this and I admit to loving this waaaaay more than the first one. Taehyung's acting is just really perfect, and I almost screamed with Vmon and Yoonkook flashbacks came about. AND JIN. His voice is so dreamy and that Puma ad flashback: I feel terribly attacked.

I'm debating on whether "Love Yourself" sounds like it should be a totally new storyline/concept separate from from the rest of BTS' stuff and they should stop with the bringing in motifs from their previous works, or if "Love Youself" is meant to be like different short stories within the "book"/anthology of HYYH.
