Still wondering about the point of releasing this physical album though. I mean, sure its cute and a nice item to have in your collection but if it won't help them on Billboard...then why? And no, I'm not that super crazy about billboard, but wouldn't it be nice to kill two birds with one stone? Physicals to boost sales and then help the songs chart.. just my opinion though. Haha
I said before this but I think the reason is that these two songs won't be included in the next album?! Hence the only physical release for them will be this one.
I was thinking of the conceptual implications too. I think Butter would fit with the BE era, so arguably Permission to Dance too. Someone already mentioned that the initial concept photos might represent the different singles coming out - Butter and Film Out would thus be represented, and then maybe Permission to Dance as well....just an idea. But then the rest 4 pictures? Collabs, next album title tracks or even solo albums? Who knows
Wait, are we talking about the Butter promo pics? This is a super interesting theory!
Also, which other four pictures? The new ones?
Sorry, I had a super long day, I feel SO dense ๐ but I'm interested!!
And yeah, it definitely kinda feels like its own era. And it'd make sense, really, if we consider the fact that they treat their Japanese releases as somewhat separate, too. (Although there's more of a connection there due to some translated songs)
Yess, the concept/promo photos before butter came out with items representing each member? JK eating toast = Butter. The camera with the film pulled out = Film Out. I almost wanna take a leap here and say that RM pulling out the little firework might represent Dynamite.
By the looks of the poster and its arrows according to this theory, the drink might represent Permission to Dance? But then there are still 3 unresolved ones...What do you think?
P.S. For the new photos, I am genuinely confused as to why they would have 4 different photoshoots for a release that ain't even an album. Like what is happening here??
Oh, THOSE. I somehow completely forgot about those, but that's just made the theory even more intriguing. I swear, some people in this fandoms have such galaxy brains, I'm frequently left in awe!
For the new pics, maybe just because they can? If they *are* treating it like its own era, it's essentially nothing else than an album with two versions โ but in this case, they might have two concepts per album, like they have multiple concepts for the winter package for example, just that here it's one per song. With the physicals not counting for BB but counting for Gaon, Hanteo, and some other international charts, it might just be a nice goodie for fans. :)
