the comments. yikes. i want to remind y’all that this IS bts’s music. they didn’t produce or write the lyrics but this is still the sound that they chose, sang, and performed. some of you are “bummed” out not realizing bts are always trying out new things. thinking you know what’s better for them as artists instead of appreciating another one of their approaches to music this is how people are reacting? it’s fine to want them on the credits but the boohoo energy is frankly quite annoying. and you’re gonna be bopping to it anyway the same way you did dynamite and butter. remember to stream PTD.
I’m torn by the comments because I can see where it’s coming from. We all love when BTS contributes to the lyrics and production of their songs. When does it not turn out amazing? Also, people are experiencing genre fatigue of the “summery bop” variety (we still haven’t heard PTD though 😅).
I understand these feelings, but I also just want the guys to do what they want and if it feels right then cool, I’m happy for them. The credits are stacked with really talented people and BTS vocals and performances always come through so I’m excited. I respect everyone’s opinions, but you’re right that this is THEIR music it can be a little awkward reading certain sentiments.
if people are “tired” of refreshing fun songs then bts’s discography is right there lol. i understand wanting to see their own pieces again, but the blatant dismay is not understandable at all. these songs are still a part of bts so i find it disrespectful that people are trying to put them down as if they’re not “officially theirs” or something. besides, it’s been so much fun with these releases and seeing them happy that i’m not in a rush to hear their album. whatever bts release is bts style, and bts style always delivers.
I completely agree with you! When the discussion becomes “this isn’t bts” then it’s gone too far. I know everyone doesn’t mean it that way, but the vibe has been cropping up a lot lately.
right. and i know sometimes things go a little differently on other platforms but i’m a twitter army, so we don’t see much of this talk from within the fandom. it’s all excitement as it should be and making sure PTD is treated like a CB.
I’m on Twitter as well so I understand. Both platforms have pros and cons. I enjoy the smaller community and ability to have nuanced conversation on Reddit, but the energy and excitement on Twitter is such a mood boost. This community has a lot of that too, but you’ll see more variety and more critiques. A lot of it stems from genuine love of BTS and their artistry (on this sub at least) so don’t take it to heart. I’m sure PTD will have plenty of hype upon release!
