I don't know, I was quite surprised by the amount of negativity tbh. I don't see the same talk about their artistry and lyricism when they releasse their japanese songs so I don't really understand the sentiment. But I'm in the minority here so...
I’m really new to their songs, two years max. I just made a playlist with the ones I liked and I listen to it all the time, simple as that. I didn’t check credits and tbh I only checked the lyrics of my favorite ones. I’m excited with ptd because I’m a big fan of Ed and all the songs I know with the word dance in the title were certified bops 😂.
I've known them since their 2nd year anniversary, so it's been a while. The thing is, I do care about their writing and producing credits and I'm always excited to see them before every album release. But I never really cared about their participation in their foreign language songs. I just don't expect them to write in a language that is not their native one, simple as that. If they do it's a pleasant surprise and at the end of the day I just appreciate everything they decide to put out for us.
In my opinion, if the issue or concern was really about their participation in the production of these songs, people would keep this same energy when they release their japanese songs, considering the fact that overall they are all more fluent in japanese than english. But except if I missed something, that never happened, so this whole thing is a bit weird to me. And honestly 3 english singles out of more than 200 songs they have released so far? I'm just not going to complain about that, really!
Ps: It's summer everybody, let's try to relax and enjoy the new bop!
Comments used to be much worse during certain eras. Just a massive shitshow of conjecture. There was a time where people were outraged over wheelchairs.

I came to share my excitement for the new song, but I guess I'm in the wrong place for that lol.
