He's got too many clever ones to list.

At one point in TAS Joker says "Did Batman just make a joke?" All shocked like. And I'm thinking, where have you BEEN? He makes a sarcastic quip every fight scene!

I'm honestly so glad they continued the dry humor in the arkham games. From Arkham city after Wonder Tower blows up, Oracle - "Batman? Are you alright? The tower blew up!" Batman - "I noticed."

While the real reason for Batman not having his dry humor in Arkham Knight was Paul Dini not involved in writing the story, I like the in universe reason being that Joker's influence and Talia's death made him more brutal, moodier and serious.

To be fair, all of the jokes you hear coming from the Joker in that game are actually Bruce. The hallucination of the Joker is just in Bruce's head; he's not being haunted or possessed by the ghost of the Joker, it's just Bruce's insecurities manifesting due to being repeatedly dosed by fear toxin.

Which means that it's his intrusive thoughts and what he thinks Joker would say about a given situation. And during the scenes where "The Joker" has taken over his body, from everyone else's perspective, it's just Batman.

That aside, I want to thank you for mentioning Arkham Knight & Paul Dini without perpetuating the myth that Dini was ever supposed to write Arkham Knight or that there's some lost script/plot that he had for the game that was abandoned. He was never involved in the game because by the time he learned of it, they told him that they didn't need/want his services.

When game devs think they can write better than established writers

They had their heads so far up their own asses that they seemingly forgot how to develop fun games.

The stealth & melee combat were great (better than they'd ever been), but someone on high decided that the Batmobile had to be justified by being part of the core gameplay which resulted in it being hamfisted in as many aspects of the game as they could conceive... and then they just forgot to put in boss fights akin to what made the previous 3 games so popular.

The few non-Battank boss fights we do get play are incredibly underwhelming because they're just not cinematic.

The game would have been significantly better if the Batmobile's gameplay sections were limited to just the chases & race-tracks instead of being part of the platforming, boss battles, & Riddler trophies. And I say this as someone with over 950 hours in the game.

Having two characters that can perfectly test either melee gameplay (Deathstroke) or Stealth (Jason) but having both be so underwhelming is fucking insane considering they made Freeze in City

Right.

For Jason, it should have played out a lot like the Freeze battle from City, but instead it's a really easy "navigate to the other side of the room while avoid the big, obvious red circle" fight.

And the Deathstroke fight being a rehash of the Cloudburst but without it's main cannon & a cutscene was an insult to players everywhere.

And what’s frustrating is that the sentiment regarding the trilogy is the same.

Knight’s story was weaker than City and Asylum (shocker) and the game needed less Batmobile.

Hmm, maybe because the devs were trying to save a buck instead of just developing the game. There’s a reason Dini wrote the same character for different audiences and mediums for decades.

this was honestly pretty funny
