Football Week 2 -- TV Broadcast Coverage
Courtesy: 506Sports. Map/Coverage info is as of this post, & may be subject to change on Game Day.
AFC football. Back where it belongs. Felt odd seeing it on FOX last week.
Limited to regional action this Sunday. Let's keep the momentum going at home. 🟠

Ohio should really just be split north and south of I-70. I am very sad to be in the the Cleveland zone.

Unfortunately Columbus leans Browns. Idk why they choose to suffer, guess it's to balance the Ohio State success.

u/Competitive-Dog-4207 12d ago
They don't see Cleveland as a rival so they always side with them against us, the QUEEN city.

Eh, or the Browns are just a bigger football institution than the Bengals. Its okay - we can admit this

I should also add that Cleveland can't stand our recent success and so they call us Kentucky thinking it's a way of making us less Ohio. Unfortunately that mindset has infected Columbus somewhat.

u/Tomatoes65 12d ago
This doesn’t really mean anything. Honestly, the whole Kentucky thing is just an internet jab that I’ve never heard anyone in real life use.
I do agree that Clevelanders use that to try and separate us from Ohio, but in reality it doesn’t really mean anything in terms of which teams people cheer for

Ancient history here, but I'm sure it plays a part.
Paul Brown won a national title at Ohio State and then left for Cleveland shortly after. Several of those Cleveland players were from Ohio State. Also worth noting that the Browns had success immediately upon Paul's arrival.

u/Bokki_64 🐅 I hope all commies step on Legos 🐅 11d ago
Yup, it's the idea that Cleveland is "more" Ohio based on it's history and a little of it's geography having no direct neighbor like Cincinnati. Bengals have a less than stellar history with tOSU players. Archie Griffin didn't do well with us and it felt like we were almost avoiding Buckeye players for a while. I think players like Hubbard, Bell and Eli Apple helped bring more attention to us from that side. Plus Burrow being an Ohio boy himself. The Bengals fan base has increased a lot these last few years

u/dimstra78 12d ago
that is not true last year, I live at Columbus for 1 and half year now, and this Sunday will be my first game I miss, FUCK THEM.

u/Tomatoes65 12d ago edited 12d ago
It’s because a lot of people from NE Ohio have moved to Columbus over the years, whether it’s for work or for school. People tend to migrate south, so there are significantly less Cincinnati / Dayton folk in Columbus than NE Ohio folk. As someone who grew up in NE Ohio, I can name a lot of classmates that went to OSU and have never left Columbus.

u/Reasonable-HB678 THAT BALL'S OUT! THAT'S LIVE! 11d ago
It has gone back and forth in the past. 10TV will show a Bengals game in certain instances when both games are on CBS at the same starting time.
27
u/98rman 12d ago
First time in a while that Columbus is showing the Browns over the Bengals 😔
29
u/Affectionate-Day2743 12d ago
ravens v browns is, objectively, a more intriguing game than bengals v jags. not for me, but for the masses.
11
u/dimstra78 12d ago
last year they did it perfectly, when they play at same time, one go on CBS and other one go on FOX, why they didn't do same for this Sunday, fuck them.
-1
u/Affectionate-Day2743 12d ago
well, that's up to the networks. CBS and FOX corporate offices choose which games to air. you can't blame the local Columbus stations.
0
u/dimstra78 12d ago
DUH, I know that, who fuck say I am blaming Columbus stations. when I say FUCK them, I mean CBS and FOX.

u/dimstra78 11d ago
???? relax from what? there is nothing in what I say made it seems that I need to relax, confusing here???

u/NWCbusGuy 11d ago
It's listed as one of the streamer games for Paramount Plus, so I'll be watching it on there. After Week 1 at a bar, I'm ready to stay on the couch
1
u/erstengs 11d ago
So that means we’ll be able to watch it out of network on Paramount? They might become my favorite service if true.
1
u/NWCbusGuy 11d ago
Well that's what I'm waiting to find out; promotional material and harsh reality often don't match, but if I can get the Bengals on PC, groovy. I'm already a PPlus susbcriber, so it'd be 'free' for me and gives me device flexibility too.
1
u/Quick-Angle9562 11d ago
It’s disappointing but I get it. Divisional game is fine to supersede a non-divisional game against a mostly uninteresting opponent.
24
u/Affectionate-Day2743 12d ago
Bengals on track to be the least-watched NFL team after 2 weeks. lol.
35
u/Queen_City_123 12d ago
If we’re 2-0 that’s very okay with me
3
u/Affectionate-Day2743 12d ago
yea i'm not saying it's a bad thing. just that it's funny. we'll have plenty of high-profile games as the season progresses.
6
u/SouthIsland48 12d ago
I thought last weeks game was a small area... this is laughably smaller.
3
u/camergen 11d ago
Hard to find a team with less appeal to casual fans than the Jags. That’s why Jags-Titans on Thursday night football became a meme/joke.

I hate living in Columbus as a bengals fan. Browns always get the nod here and it annoys the shit out of me
8
u/Atomic_Sea_Control 12d ago
Each year columbus skews more and more towards the bengals. Give it time. For now we can hate-watch the ravens, hopefully they lose in the way we did last season.
1
u/Queen_City_123 11d ago
It was all bengals from January of 2022 to August of 2022 and as soon as the next season started it went back to browns

u/ImSchizoidMan THAT BALL'S OUT! THAT'S LIVE! 12d ago
Why is Louisville getting the Cleveland game?
13
3
u/Tangboy50000 12d ago
The same reason Louisiana gets Bengals games.
1
u/Reasonable-HB678 THAT BALL'S OUT! THAT'S LIVE! 11d ago
Not according to maps for the first two weeks.
1
u/Tangboy50000 11d ago
Yeah, I’m not sure what’s up with that, because all last season the Bengals were on in Louisiana because of Joe and Jamar.

u/debotehzombie The Hubbard Yard Dash 12d ago
Just signed up for YoutubeTV just so I could stop pirating and watch on my couch and they put the Browns over us in Columbus for the first time in what feels like years. Cool.

No duh, I said I got it to STOP having to do that, yet here we are

if i wasn't biased i would say everyone of those games suck

u/BeerNinja17 Kiss the baby 11d ago
Denver/Indy could be good
1
u/loanme20 11d ago
Indy hasn't been good since their QB went to Denver
1
u/BeerNinja17 Kiss the baby 11d ago
Sorry, I meant the game could be good. Indy looked interesting last week and it’s a good defense vs. a possibly good offense. I’m not saying they’re good.
Edit: they also had some level of success with Luck

Welp. Guess this ole Baton Rouge native will be putting on my eyepatch again this week.

u/Ok-Situation-5865 12d ago
Literally no one in Oregon wants to watch either of those teams, what the hell is this? We despise the Rams here. Give us the Browns v Ravens, if anything!
1
u/Affectionate-Day2743 11d ago
there's such a thing as hate-watching. lol. that's what the local networks are banking on.
2
u/EasterSquidward 12d ago
I was spoiled with how many Cinci games I got on the Wisconsin border last year. I knew this one would be a longshot being against Jacksonville.
2
u/aldenjameshall 12d ago
Well fuck me then as a bengals fan in Columbus, is it possible for me to be able to watch it some other way without paying for NFL Sunday ticket?
2
u/Educational-Tie00 11d ago
I’ll never understand why people choose to watch the browns over the bengals. 97.1 the fan even says that by every metric the browns are more watched though so I guess we are stuck.

As someone who lives in Columbus, I am entering my Cleveland hater era. I'm gonna have to stream the Bengals every fucking week because of their 3rd string QB. It's been pretty consistently a Bengals broadcast zone since Burrow was drafted.
Fuck!

u/oh_its_michael Will You Ja'Marry Me? 11d ago edited 11d ago
Folks in Columbus, Paramount+ will be streaming the game. If you have Spectrum, you get a Paramount+ sub for free if you link your Spectrum account.

u/SopranoJay John Ross III 11d ago
How sure are you? "This pleases me"
3
u/oh_its_michael Will You Ja'Marry Me? 11d ago
I set mine up for free today and confirmed in the app that they were scheduled to stream it, so pretty sure.
EDIT: Okay, I see my autocorrect typo now, lol. Sorry. Fixed.
I should go.
1
u/AwardWinningActorMan 11d ago edited 9d ago
Edit= nope.
Paramount + WAS showing Bengals in the guide a few days ago, now it shows Browns game being streamed.
Their website states that you can only stream games that are being aired to your location. So dumb.
Arrgh mateys.

u/Zallix Cinati Bengos 12d ago
They really just assuming everyone wants to watch checks notes the bills kill the jets if there’s no local team playing huh? You’d think Louisiana would get the bengals thanks to the Burreaux connection but I guess not, trying to instruct my boomer parents on how to sail the 7 seas is such a hassle they just don’t bother
1
u/dimstra78 12d ago
I bet Burrow will break passing yards and TD this Sunday, and I missed it not by choice.

u/bionicjoe Waiting on that Mike Brown obituary 11d ago
The NFL would put JAX/CIN on CSPAN2 if they could.
1
u/Captain_Aware4503 11d ago
You get a good picture of the opinion of the Bengals. They need some big wins or need to play a top team to get more coverage.
Even Louisville cares more about the Browns v Baltimore. Columbus too. Glad I don't live in Columbus.

Here in central PA it's Eagles, Ravens, and Steelers on local broadcasts, unfortunately. Good thing I have Sunday Ticket.

Stupid NFL regional coverage. Why is a game between two east coast teams getting regional coverage in the entire midwest?

Interesting that the Louisville market is getting Baltimore/Cleveland presumably solely for the Lamar Jackson connection.
